Sunridge Golf Club
About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

freindly staff
greeted and felt welcomed right away no rush but bring lots of balls and know where all the water is before hitting
Sunridge
The course has an unusual layout that presents some real challenging holes. I was surprised at the number of water hazards on a desert course. The sand traps on the other hand were in terrible condition.
Great place to play and see the valley
We play here as often as we can. Staff has always been very helpful and friendly. Course is well maintained. Very challenging course.
Fun course with fantastic views
The course is fun and well laid out. Unfortunately the course is in rough shape in certain areas and an entire hole has been shut down for quite a while.
Still a nice course, but it could be much better.
Sunridge is a Blast!
Sunridge is always a blast to play! From the ball eating water on most of the first 13 holes to the magnificent mountain top tee boxes and ball eating canyons on the last several holes, it is one of my favorite courses.
As a note, hole 14 was washed out by a thunderstorm and has been out of service for a couple of seasons. There is a bonus hole after 18 that has been put into service to make up for the missing 14.
Wonderful round of golf in a long time.
I would give all 5 stars except the situation with hole #14. It was configured at the top of the hills looking down the whole Carson Valley and it was closed with an unknown reason. It would have been a spectacular playing down the hill after driving up the cart skillfully. Had to be content with hole #19.
I would recommend the course to a player who has single handicap or less.
Perfect weather, friendly staff and the Golfnow value made us very happy and satisfying. It was truly the icing on the cake to celebrate my 78th birthday on July 4th. Yes, it was!!! Thanks a lot, Golfnow.com and the staff at the Sunridge Golf club.
Too Bad The Bunkers Need A Lot Of Work & Hole #14 Is Closed
This is my 3rd time playing Sunridge I'm from California. The first time I didn't like the course much, the second time I really enjoyed the course although with #14 closed the most interesting hole on the course it was a long cart ride to #15 tee box. Don't think you'll ever walk here no way unless your a mountain goat! This time when I played the bunkers were unplayable full of water in many and no sand just a light spread of pebbles. It's too bad this is a really nice layout and a challenging course to play with a lot of water. It could be a best of the best for the area I think with a little more care for the course and greens. By the way they do have a #19 hole to play because of #14 being closed.
Sad to see this court in such disrepair
We have played this course whenever we vacation in Tahoe and really enjoyed it. However, this time it appears they are on the verge of closing up. They have let the entire place fall in to disrepair. Even the parking lot is full of weeds. Most of the sand traps have been abandoned and are full of weeds or standing water. The most challenging hole is completely closed. So sad.
Sunridge Golf Course
I played Sunridge one day after traveling 300 miles and riding in he car for 6 hours. I seldom play well at the beginning of a trip. I certainly need my yardage marker (GPS).
Sunridge has a lot of intermediate rough which I found before I found my swing. Sunridge also has a few severe tee changes. It was a guessing game to compute the correct yardages. There is too much elevation change to walk tis course.
Sunridge is a challenging but fair lay-out. I will play much better on subsequent rounds when I acquire my swing.
A day in the valley
Lots of water...I will say it again.....Lots of WATER. The water makes the course very challenging. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Didnt get to play hole 14 as it was under repair, but they do have a 19th hole (not the bar) which is a par 3. I will be back to play again.
Excellent and challenging course
This a challenging and fun course to play with
very friendly staff.
wonderful experience. we will be back
My son and I had a wonderful time at this course. The staff were super nice and friendly. The golf course was really nice, too. Great view of the valley and we will be back again for sure.
Fun course
I enjoyed the course, greens were good, fairways in good shape but they definitely need to finish the back nine (14th).
I this Course very fun and challenging. Want to play again..
Awesome Course.. water.. up hill.. down hill.. blind spot.. I really had fun to play this course.. I do recommend to all golfers...
Beautiful views and challenging
I am a western Nevada resident. Sunridge is my favorite course in the Carson City area. It offers beautiful scenery and holes are challenging. Par 3's are especially intriguing. Great fun'
challenging
Loved having the opportunity to golf more often since Golf Now offers such great discounts
Hidden Gem!!!!
Love this course!!!!!Challenging and super fun!!!!!!!
SunridgeGC
Good overall layout, but Hole 14 (par 4) is under maintenance (as was not stated anywhere). However, they used a nice par 3 to finish off the round.
Never again
The course was over -watered. The 14th hole was closed(no indication of that on the website), the greens were very fast but covered with some strange fungus and small dirt balls. Many of the bunkers were overgrown with weeds and grass or full of water. All things considered, it was not a particularly good outing.
fun and different
Much better than expected. Nice greens, very well watered. Totally challenging. Must play again soon. Attendant needs to inform players of the 14th being closed, and the 19th as a sub.
