Sunridge Golf Club
About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

Great Value
Other than hole 14 which is under repair course was in good condition though bunkers had lots of water and some obvious drainage issues. Greens were great; fast and smooth. Pretty challenging holes along with some fairly easy holes. Good mix. I'll certainly play again though it would be nice if the course could actually be walked (pretty extreme elevation changes and distances).
Sunridge
Thee Staff was friendly and helpful, the course was in good shape and challenging, will return to play again.
A hidden gem
Prior Yelp reviews about course condition are outdated. This course was in good shape. Lots of water. At first it doesn't seem that difficult, but shot placement is important. Greens are fun, too. The price is great, and there were very few other golfers out playing it on a Friday! The 14th hole was closed, but they have 19th (playoff hole).
Nice place
Brand new carts Beautiful views nice greens great pace of play staff very Pleasant
Good Round at Sunridge
Nice day of golfing at a great deal at this course.
Recommend this course for the Golf Now deal to anyone. Live in Reno so we have a somewhat long ride but for the price we paid, it will always be a a no brainier.
Lots of Challenges
This course makes you think. Lots of water on the front 9, many elevation changes on the back 9. Very friendly staff. Great day even included a fly over by a B-17 and a B-24.
Outstanding vistas!!
I was surprised how few people were at the course so play was very fast. The layout has a lot of water and hidden doglegs that make it challenging and interesting. The course has a lot of steep elevations that would make walking a real chore. The view from the elevated tee positions are amazing. Although the 14th hole is currently not available due to a landslide, the 19th "playoff hole" can be used to complete an 18 hole round.
walk if you want a workout
great value; has potential to be a much better course; walking not recommended unless you're in great shape - front side easy walk back side not so much - takes nearly halfhour to walk from hole 13 to the next hole with a major climb up the hill; back nine kind of goofy layout.
Wierd course
A lot of water and some extreme elevation on some tees. I like it because you don't get courses with this much personality.
potential to be much better
excellent value, this course has potential to be much better but will probably remain as it is,cart paths excellent, lakes on course excellent (all brick walled),greens are huge ,roll true, and hold better than any desert course I have played before, sand traps are neglected though and weeds grow within, the fairway grass, the signature hole is out of commission because of a flood so you play a par 3 as a replacement at the end of your round, pro shop girl very friendly, I enjoyed my round, was very reasonable ,and if you look past the grass/bunkers issues I think you will enjoy your round there
Mediocre course but good value
This course has gone through several owners and every one is doing it on a budget. The course layout is good but maintenance is poor especially bunkers. The carts are very old and rarely able to make a full round without dying. Also hole 14 is still out of play due to flooding, and with any money and effort it could have been playable months ago. I would never pay full price for this course, but the hot deals make it worth it. Great way to practice your game.
interesting course
this appears to be an underused course, probably due to its length and hazards( lots of retirees in this area and they probably use easier and shorter courses) but it is challenging. 130 from the blues . Just wish the 14th was open to play as it looks fun.....
Could be better
Too bad they dont put energy into this course. I would pay more if it was in better shape.
Great value
14th hole with the 200ft elevation change from the tee box to the green is still out of commission due to last years flash flood, despite that the course is a great value and appears to never be busy enough to encounter slow play, good variety of water hazards on the front nine and challenging elevation changes on the back nine, love this course.
Nice value
I played Sunridge in early February and it was dormant but it was very playable. Just played it in April and it's getting greener but it's overall condition is a little beat up. That's to be expected this time of year. The greens are very nice though. I particularly liked the staff and thought they were very friendly. You can't beat the overall value! Can't wait to play it this summer.
This course is a hidden gem
The 14th hole was all but wiped out due to water run off last year. They are working very hard to get it repaired, so you substitute the 19th hole par 3 for the 14th. They have just been purchased by Dark Horse Golf Course in Auburn CA. They will be replacing all of their electric carts in May. Very enjoyable course with a lot of elevation changes, especially on the back nine and water on 9 holes. Number 15 is my favorite, short par 3, hit it to the right side and let it feed to the center or left pin location.
unique golf course
This golf course is a must play if you are in the area. I have never played a course like this before. Lots of OB, you have to be accurate off the tee. Lots of elevation changes makes for challenging approach shots.
This course has great features.
Challenging course. In pretty good shape for the time of year. Except #14 was closed and we were not informed of this. Also was cart path only and that made it more difficult with the altitude for us Florida players.
Improving conditions
First time in a year to play the course. 14th hole closed due to a recent flooding/mudslide. However, a 19th hole par 3 exists right after 18. Course plays to a par 71 instead of 72. Fairways and greens in great condition compared to the past few years. Beware of cart path only rules, call in advance. Well worth a visit at golf now deal rates. Course needs to place red stakes around water hazards next to fairways, to help frame shots. Bunkers and tee boxes in good condition. Driving range and putting green in good shape.
Just ok
Course is in really rough condition. I went into it expecting some issues because I know a lot of course maintenance is done in the off season. This course was beyond torn up. Not every hole, but enough to be noticeable to my buddy who had never played there. Also, their signature hole (#14) was completely closed. If you go in the afternoon, be prepared to get a cart that dies on the 13th hole.
