Sunridge Golf Club

About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

Nice views
The views are pretty and the course is challenging, but it does lack some things other courses have. I will definitely play again, but will know some things going in, that I didn’t know. Number one, make sure you have plenty to drink, because there is no water or anywhere to get something to drink while you’re on the course. This particular day took 6 hrs to play 18, due to a group that slowed up play for everyone else. Overall it was a nice course and the staff was friendly.
Great challenge, last 4 holes were very strange ,but challenging
Fun Course
Fun course. The last five holes were AMAZING. Huge elevation change up after #13. It was fun trying to figure out what to hit from the elevated tees. I had a couple of beers at the bar after the round. Played by myself. Would love to play again now that I would know what I was doing. Attached picture is one of the last five holes
Hidden Gem
First time playing this course, and it did not disappoint. Beautiful course with very consistent green speeds. Beautiful views throughout. We will definitely be back.
Tough for first time
The course has some crazy elevation changes and water throughout. You definitely need to club down and maneuver around hazards. If it is your first time at the course, good luck, this is not a friendly course if you aren’t familiar with the layout.
Needs upgrade
So many dandelions! Literally thousands. Course hadn’t been mowed recently. Greens were slow and needed mowing also.
Hopefully conditions improve 🤞🏼
Weed control..!
Could be a Great course, fix the bunkers, drain the water out of them, and put some decent sand in. Fairways had massive amounts of weeds, dandelions, etc. probably won’t play here again.
Bring your GPS
Your round here will be a better experience with a decent GPS app on your phone.
Visuals, especially off the tee, can be deceiving. Trust your numbers and be prepared to take less than driver off some of the par-4s.
Course has some rough spots and greens were on the slow side.
Staff is very friendly. Marshall did his best to keep pace of play up but a rowdy "men's club" league ahead of us led to a five-hour round.
Never grow tired of this course
Lots of water, plenty of hills and amazing scenery.
Great views, good greens
Course is in good condition, green we’re aerated
Recently and are rolling nicely.
Are you part Mountain Goat?
If not, do NOT consider walking Sunridge. This local course is more character than a typical muni should have. The front 9 will keep you thinking and it plays very fair, The first part of the back 10-13 are OK but really unmemorable especially since 14-18 are so much fun. The views, expecially in the Spring are fantastic with the Sierras and Heavenly Ski Resort overlooking the course.
