TPC Myrtle Beach
About
TPC Myrtle Beach, designed by Tom Fazio with assistance from Lanny Wadkins, opened in 1999 as the Grand Strand's 100th golf course.
Set south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, the golf course features an abundance of bird life and natural wetlands, which come into play on 11 holes and pine trees frame many of the holes. Tom Watson proclaimed TPC Myrtle Beach an "interesting challenge and a quiet walk in nature."

Excellent Course and Staff
The only downside to the day was having to fix all the spike marks and ball marks from the old farts playing in front of us. The course is amazing! Very fair and the conditions were awesome. Even had a member of the staff apologize that it wasn’t in better shape due to the bermuda just starting to take over from the winter rye. Speaking of the staff, couldn’t have been nicer and that’s always nice adder to a round.
Great course
Very beautiful course, conditions and layout. Friendly staff and most accommodating!
Very Nice
Worth the money Played Beach area for 40 years best course I’ve played
Immaculate
Course is immaculate. A few holes are cart path only which is annoying (it didn’t rain for a week before I played so I don’t understand why). As a result, it slows up the pace of play which is the only negative I can write about. One of the more expensive rounds in Myrtle but it’s worth it. Would def play here again.

Course is in excellent condition
My first TPC course and it didn’t disappoint. They are about to host the PGA qualifier so I’m not sure if the course is always in as good of shape as it was. The greens held and were true. Tee boxes were level and well maintained. The fairways were all very well manicured and consistent grass height. The rough wasn’t overly punishing and the sand traps were all consistent (I was in 3). The price is high, but I would play again.
Very nice, great conditioning, repetitive greens and lacks enough distinguishing golf features
The course is pretty and the conditioning is excellent. The hole lengths have good variety. Fair amount of width off the tee but a good number of holes have water right in play. It's a nice layout but it seems repetitive after a while, especially the green sites. Other than the par 3s they all seem to be elevated with bunkers front left and right. There are a handful of very nice memorable holes with good features, but quite a number are straightforward and nondescript. The course is conservative in its presentation. And I like when water features on a hole without being too intrusive or overwhelming. This course has a lot of water in do-or-die setups. It's a good course that feels big. It has lots of long green to tee distances for those who want to walk it. I would give it 3-1/2 stars due to the soundness of the course layout and great conditioning.
Great conditions and challenging layout
Golfnow needs to provide some hot deals because it is a really nice course, conditions were top notch, but too expensive.
Great Condition, Slow Play
Course was in great condition and a very nice layout. Challenging but not crazy hard.
Realized later I could have played much cheaper. Pace was good on our first 9 holes (they started us on the back 9). When we made the turn they had two groups waiting to start in front of us. Sat there for 25 minutes. Annoying. If you're already in a round why not have the right away? Also, they didn't let carts off the path for most of the round. Also annoying as course was not wet at all. Added 45 minutes to the round just walking from cart path to ball and back.
Food was meh....
Not up to TPC Standards
Maybe my expectations were too high after playing other TPC courses, but I was disappointed by TPC Myrtle Beach. The course was in fair condition with overseeded immature fairways. The greens were in decent shape but there were too many ball marks left without repair. The course had gotten 2 inches of rain earlier in the week so it was cart path only with no exceptions (even for my dad who has trouble walking long distances). To be fair, I acknowledge that this contributed to the pace of play, but no round of golf should take 5 hours and 10 minutes…EVER!! The course has a great layout and if the condition was better it could be amazing, but it certainly fell flat today.
Absolutely Amazing
The wife and i played here for the first time and we were greeted at the bag drop by great staff. This course is an absolute must for any golfer from the first tee shot to the last putt you will be in awe. We can't wait to come back to Myrtle Beach to play here again and we will play here again thank you for an amazing day.
