Wild life
Tee boxes need work. A couple of fairways had large "ground under repair" areas.
Lost 2 balls to the sly fox.
Challenging pin placements
Great day, great course. Don't let the yardage fool you, holes are well designed, greens are in good shape, but still plenty challenging
Green
Lovely place to play with little worry about losing balls.
Los Lagos
For a short muni, good conditions and easy to walk with one exception. Who ever decided to make players cross that bridge twice does not have the players in mind. They only want you to finish the ninth hole at the clubhouse to sell you a hotdog and a beer. I didn't buy any because of this scam.
Practice course only
Lot of par 3's
Course maintenance is not good.
Tee box' beat up & not level
Fairways are beat up
Greens are decent for muni speed wise but beat up.
Over priced for the quality unless Golfnow discount
Great short course design
The course is still a great design but a few of the greens and areas of the fairways need repair. Pace of play in the late afternoon was very slow.
a good muni course
a good course for iron shot practice with 9 par3 holes, grass is sticky, need pay a tension when hit from rough, greens are ok.
fun course
I played here many times, always a good experience knowing the layout is big advantage, in keeping out of trouble
plugged greens and no driving range
I arrived over an hour before my tee time to hit a small bucket and take some putting practice. The half empty parking lot at 8am should have been my first clue. The driving range was closed for repairs. It appears that they are sandblasting the rust from all of the large poles that support the netting around the range. So I went and checked in instead of hitting balls. When checking in I didn't see any notification about the greens being recently plugged and sanded. There wasn't any notice when I booked online either. All 18 holes were plugged and sanded a few days prior and they were still charging full price for the round and cart. For the first 5 holes we had to wait constantly for the group in front of us. I called the pro shop and they sent out a marshal to speed up the 2 groups in front of us. They were a whole hole behind. Once they started moving, the rest of the day went fairly well.
I don't remember the wind being such a factor in past rounds, but there was a 2-3 club wind most of the day. Some areas of the fairways were dead, either from too much fertilizer or not enough water. Maybe they should plug the fairways!! Also the chipping green was closed as about half of it appeared dead also. If I decide to try this course later this year, I will drive over there to see what improvements have been made before I will book another round.
If you play there, don't leave any food in your cart. Either the foxes or the squirrels will get in the cart and walk off with anything in your cart. I had a hot link at the turn and two foxes saw it in my hand as I was at the green on #10. I had t finish before they would leave me alone. I even swung my club at them and they would back up, but they come towards me again until it was gone. I really wanted a polish which was on the menu, but they were out of them. go figure. 19th hole has never been very important to the management there. I had to wait several minutes for person to get off the phone before I could even order.
Walking 18
This was a great course, and good workout after walking 18. Well kept greens, and definitely a friendly staff. Be prepared to hit a lot of wedges off the tee. We were playing a round in between some tournament players and the staff offered to let us start earlier, and kept us informed about tournament players that needed to jump in front of us to finish their rounds. I look forward to playing this course again. It's also really nice seeing all the wildlife on the course: Foxes, and Wild Turkey's especially.
Amazing !
I live 4 miles away yet never played here before thinking it was nothing special about this place. Los Lagos I am so sorry for thinking that for years. This place was amazing, The course was very well maintained, the greens was just right and the layout was a good mix of challenges.Although, somewhat short on some par 3's but if you play black it is plenty. My partner and I was just impressed and thanks to Golfnow this was a bargain.
Decnt course but seems to attract strange crowd
Never has it happened before that the following flight has hit balls over your head repeatedly, our flight was quite fast, the whole course was backed up and everyone knew that...and then sliding their carts /smirking when they get closer...almost inviting/daring you to have an argument...the bunch looked quite antisocial.
I am not coming back to this course again.
$50 for a Wednesday afternoon
$50 each with a cart, Definitely not a hot deal. The course is nice considering it's right off of capital expressway and it feels like you're off in the mountains somewhere. But the greens and tees were a little beat up and by hole 15 we were in a traffic jam of players. The pro shop guys were great. Really friendly and helpful but the bartender didn't seem to happy to be there. I still say the best bar staff is Santa Theresa. Not a terrible course but also not a five star experience.
Great value
I recently played Los Lagos on a Thursday afternoon and the following Sunday afternoon. Both times I started around 3. The course was not overly crowded and I played each round in about 4 hours. The course is short and somewhat easy, but fun and in good shape. Overall very good value for a $25 round with a cart. I would go back. It might not be a great course to walk, since there is a long way between a few of the holes.
great layout
course was in good shape greens were firm and fast
rolled well rest of course was in pretty good shape
rough was very thick
Pleasantly surprised!
I had a very nice round yesterday. We have had a lot of rain recently and the course was in terrific shape minus the bunkers. Solid value for the S. Bay.
Decent Golf Course
Second time playing here, was worried about gusty wind when I arrived at the course but it died down within the first couple holes. It seems like some of the holes play a club longer than what you'd normally hit for distances from the tee (some of the par 3's especially). So that cost me a few strokes but I can't complain, I'm still just getting into the sport. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone in the south bay area, it's a great looking course that isn't that challenging until you make a mistake. I'd also advise anyone thinking of walking solo to avoid doing so. Cutting through the wildlife preserve back and forth, twice to get to 4 of the 18 holes is a nuisance.
great course
This is a great place to play 18 holes, pace is good and lots of open space to play if you hook or slice.
A little paradise in the middle of town.
Interesting course with an abundance of challenging par-5s and lots of par-3s. This was my first time there and I really enjoyed it. They made the most of this small space in the middle of town.
A beautiful fox accompanied me on the fourth hole and showed no fear when I got within 15' of him. I caught him sniffing my cart when I was teeing off.
Good for practice
The course is not long, but there are proper traps. it's good for iron practise.
