Fun course, not too difficult, great scenery, friendly staff
The course is easy to moderate, especially based on the par 3's where the green is easily accessed off the tees. The setting is beautiful. We had what appeared to be a resident fox looking at us for a hand out, which we didn't give. The largest draw back was that the fairways seemed to have been over-watered and were soggy in several places. Pace of play was pretty good with minor delay at some holes. If you're out to have fun, this is a great place to go.
Good course for intermediate players
The holes are interesting with hazards and elevation changed with out bring too long. Good challenge for intermediate folders.
Good course, lots of Par 3's, but still challenging.
The staff was terrific, very friendly. Course was in good shape, even though it had poured the previous day.
Challenging, relatively short course.
Put away your grip and rip. Course has 9-par3's, 4-par 4's; 5-par 5's on a relatively narrow, rolling hills layout.
Not informed that aeration took place within 48 hours of tee time.
This course is a nice place to play most of the time. The course is generally in nice condition, but today we were not informed on the Golfnow website that the course aerated within the last 48 hours and the greens were in incredibly lousy condition. The greens were still covered with sand, slower than I have ever seen. Its not fair for them to charge anywhere near the price that a normal round costs. Luckily I paid less through Golfnow, however, it was still to much considering the conditions of the greens.
Course is okay but not when its being aerated.
Interesting little course. Regular green fees are too much for this course. Okay with Golf Now special rate though. However, there was no advance notification that greens were being aerated and that spoiled the enjoyment of the course. I think Golf Now should be responsible for letting people know of course conditions prior to bookings.
The course is in good shape and was not crowded on a weekend
good experience with the exception of the $18 pitcher of beer.
overpriced need to remember the course is in San Jose not
Pebble Beach.
Course is convenient and generally a good value
While I like the value of the course, there are a few things that could be improved:
- not all the ball washers had water in them
- too many ball marks left on the green (this is mostly a player problem, but its really annoying to find at least 10 non-repaired ball marks on every green. Maybe the course can remind players to fix at least two on every hole... their own plus one more)
NIce course. Staff could be more outgoing.
Staff while not being dismissive, wasn't exactly what you expect. Would be nice to be greeted with a smile and how do you do.
Great deal
This course is well maintained and a great value on golf now. Really fun course to play
Course had some long par 5's.
The course has a good mix of par 3, 4 and 5's. Cart is necessary because of fairways that are on the other side of the creek. Nice greens.
short course but challenging. accuracy will help, since fairways are not too wide
great place to hone your irons, rough is very tough , grass is too high and makes the shot unpredictable. The ball settle all the way down on the grass . Need too re program sprinkler so that it does not soak up the sand trap. Almost all the sand trap are basically mud trap , no sand beneath the ball , the ball either fly out or get stuck and stay in the trap. You could easily lose extra stroke just by being in the sand trap . (no recovery here) . so stay away from sand traps . there's not even a half inch of sand below your ball.(this one area that need to be check out, it adds up on your score. overall the course is decent.
The course was in great shape. Pace of play was fast. The greens were in excellent condition..
A friend and I played in twosome by ourselves mid-morning on a Saturday. Pace of play was good after a foursome of walkers let us play through. Course was in great shape with excellent greens. Weekend green fees were OK. A good course to sharpen up your short game.
course was in good shape, but 5.5 hr round
if you have the desire and time to sit around and chat w/ playing partners, great course. If time is an issue I would reconsider.
Fun course, in good shape.
Great course to keep all your shots in good trim. Shorter, with lots of par 3's, but has nice longer par 4s and Par 5s that need to be managed well. Good bunker placement keeps you sharp, and the grass in the roughs will encourage you to satay out of it!
Breezy routing gives practice dealing with wind.
Took some Scottish visitors here, and they found it interesting and challenging. Fun and well-run.
nicely maintained course with creative challenges
Matt was extremely helpful and courteous...great resource to have at the pro shop...the person behind the food counter extremely polite and food was good. Our group had a good time and highly recommend.
Great Course, Great Pace
As a beginner, this was a challenging course. Fairways were in nice condition as well as the Greens. Easy course to lose balls if you don't have your shot fine tuned LOL. Overall, a great experience. The scenery, wildlife and course blend together for a wonderful setting. Would definitely consider returning. Also, got a free bucket of balls for the range since it was my first time at this course!
Good for all levels of player
I like this course because it is challenging and with exception of the ruff rough good for beginners also.
A very nice challenging course to play for all levels.
The last two holes are always a reallly big challenge for me.
Entertaining course for a great price
I've always thought that if Batman's Gotham City had a golf course, it would be Los Lagos. The green rolling hills, lakes, and forests seem to come right out of the vibrant world of a comic book. And the course is very fun to play without being exceptionally difficult. It's perfect to learn on or to take parents or grandparents who may not have the distance for a full-length course and have a good time. Los Lagos has tremendous value for a low price and it is always very well maintained. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to see the kind of high quality municipal golf course that San Jose can provide.
