Golfer Reviews
Challenging course for a duffer.
Par 68 course with some long par 5's and challenging 3's & 4's. Hazards include water, lots of sand, trees, and protected environmental areas! On holes 3 & 4 watch your lunch &/ snack as the foxes are hungry and bold. On the 16th tee watch for sun bathing ground squirrels.
The greens are large and split level. It is fairly typical to find the flag on the slope between levels. Putting in two can be a challenge.
Fairways tend to be rather swampy and over watered and the greens could use a little more TLC.
With that said, it is a challenging course and the pace of play is quite good. The atmosphere is very relaxed.
I recommend Los Lagos and I go back quite often.
Fun Course Great Staff
The course does have some problems currently. Some areas are over watered to the point of your ball sinking in mud (usually right near the greens) and some are dry as a bone. The course staff acknowledged that they are undergoing a course upkeep challenge and are working to solve it. I would still play it and recommend it as it is fun and the staff are great.
Well kept municipal course with better than average greens.
For a municipal course it's a great value. The greens are above average and the course is well maintained. One of my biggest complaints is the groundskeeper (who is not a golfer) putting the holes in places that are ridiculous just to screw with the golfers. Three feet from the edge of the green or in the middle of steep down slope is very frustrating to the average golfer. This is not Sunday at the US Open. It's more "rude" than anything else. Wish they could have made it a par 72. It's a gem of a course for the money.
Golfnow Dealio!
Grabbed a quick tee time via golfnow in AM, for a 1:30 t-time...pulled into the lot in a downpour, was 1st out after a 30 minute shower. Got done in 2:45! I applaud the drainage gods, no mud at all! Fun day off!
