About
Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.
Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

First timer to Myrtle Beach area
Front nine relatively easy and wide open. Back nine trickier and wetter as conditions deteriorated. Still, a fun round and definitely would come back - especially on a nicer day. Like what they’re doing with the stacked up sod bunkers. They look great but wouldn’t want to be in them!
S-L-O-W!!
We had a nice time and thankfully we were in no hurry because our round took just under 5 1/2 hours. Nonsense. No Marshall to keep pace of play, or obviously not one that proved to be effective at their job. We still had fun and I’ll be back as the course is a decent value. I’ll just make sure that I do it on a day where I don’t want to make any other plans.

Good enough
There are a lot of options in this area. Most of them are overpriced. This one is worth the asking price for sure. The course is in good shape for this time of year. I will most definitely return.
Golf Trip
First time playing in South Carolina. Getting used to the Bermuda grass fairways and greens took some getting used to. In general I did not feel that the greens held the ball as well as I was used to.
I liked the course layout and our pace of play was very good. I really appreciated the quality of the sand in the bunkers. Nice wide fairways,

First time playing here
Greens were the best I have played on and excellently cared for. Beautiful scenery as well. Pace was slow because the course was pretty busy, waited about 10-15 minutes to tee off each hole.
OCASSIONAL GOLFER
The course was awesome ! Fairways emaculate, Greens were Crazy Fast !!! I three-putted more in this one round than I have in an entire year. Very challenging to say the least, hit greens in regulation and down in bogey, Wow !
That is not a complaint by no means, just means you better bring your "A" game on to the Green !!! Lol
Weather was beautiful and had a wonderful outing with my friend next door.
Slow Play
Definitely need a ranger on this course. Play was extremely slow. Started about 20 minutes past our tee time and play was extremely slow. Did enjoy the couple we were pared up with.

Average course
Considering they have not had a chance to clean up after the hurricane, the course was in fair shape. Aside from that a lot of work needs to be done refine the course.

Nice greens, but
Excellent greens. Rough fairways due to renovations. Have to play improved lies.
Perch tees are neat, but, just look like piles of sand with some rough sodding or seeding.
Very nice layout. Please take care of it better. Tee markers weren’t placed. Off to the side for mowing. Staff was excellent. Grass around most traps left way too long. (Green side hazards?)

As Director of Golf, I always play the Perch Tees, great challenge. But definitely not for the average golfer.
Can’t wait to play again
I played with my dad who plays this course every year. The course had a lot of work done over the past year he said.
I love the layout, the conditions were good, once the course is healed from the construction it will be great!

Good value
Greens were smoothe and quick and had some character. Tees and fairways well maintained. Last 3 holes are tough. Staff was friendly and genuine. We enjoyed playing here and would definitely come back.
