Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Ohkay

In spite of weather conditions (spotty rain) it was an enjoyable round of golf.

Second time shame on me

We went to this course last year. It rained and we could only get 9 in. Asked if we could finish tomorrow and they said sure. We arrive the next day and they charge us extra for finishing up the back 9. Thought that was being cheap but paid the extra and moved on. So this year we booked again since price is reasonable. This year come out and grab cart and drive to vehicle. Starter was pretty rude about us driving out to car. When we grabbed cart no one was around to tell us not to. When we loaded up and heard back to practice area to putt starter sternly teals for us to come to him. With his finger pointing to ground he calls us over. Tells us we need to put cart back where all carts are to begin with before you check in. I ask him do we have a issue you here? Then he realizes he’s being a total jerk and say no. I let it slide since there is 6 of us. One of the 6 is a 8 year old junior golfer which they charged us $15 for him to play. Every other course let him go for free. This place is to cheap and must be starving for money. Once it sells and course is fixed up we will be back. PS can your starter!!!

Very Nice!

This is a very nice course to play at the beach. Over the years, I have played some courses that were so stinking hard, you think, "I'm doing this on my vacation?". Eagle Nest is a nice layout with some gentle changes in topography that provides a fun experience. Lo and behold, I hear, then see, eagles on holes 2-4. Bonus! The greens and some tee boxes had just been punched and sanded, so I didn't get to play the course in prime condition. [Why does any beach course punch greens the busiest week of the summer???] Regardless, I was alerted in the club house before I paid. The pace of play was slow. On the front nine, the marshal said he found and hurried a group along. If it made a difference, it was minimal. Overall, 4 stars. I would definitely play this course again.

Best Course on North End

This will now be my go-to course. There is not a lot of water play like most courses in the area. The course has a lot of doglegs which I like playing as I don't have the distance as some players. I don't play a lot but will probably play more because of this course. Conditions and greens were great.

Improved from Early May

Fairways are starting to look. Better. Greens were so/so after just being aerated recently. Tee Boxes are a little rough but better than they were back in May

Hidden gem

First time playing at this course. Greens were recently punched, however they were coming in nice. Great challenging layout. I’ll be back to play again.

Course under repair

The staff was great, both inside and out. The starter was an USAF Vet and was great to talk with and full of course info. We Loved the course layout. The fairways were in decent shape but there was quite a bit of repair being done on the course and the greens and boxes had just been aerated and sanded. Greens were super long making it almost impossible to putt. I would love to play this course when it’s in better condition.
