Eagle Nest Golf Club
About
Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.
Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Great Course, Great Value
I was actually surprised when my son and I pulled into the parking lot for our 7:00 tee time that there weren’t more people there, since it was Sunday morning and MB courses always seem to be full. When we teed off there was not another tee time til 7:30 that we could see. My son was thrilled when he saw that we basically were going to have a round all to ourselves. We both loved the course layout. It wasn’t too difficult, open enough for the amateur and challenging enough for low handicappers. The fairways were in great shape, although some were very wet in spots, I’m sure the recent rains had something to do with that, but I thought they would have drained better. Again, only in a couple spots. The greens were also in good shape, some had been under repair recently but were near the fringes so they didn’t come into play when trying to make your Bogey puts, lol. The rough right off the fairway seemed to be much higher then most courses but only in some spots, My biggest drawback were the sand traps, I loved the designs and locations but the sand was very hard making them difficult to play out of, so we didn’t (fortunately I did not hit one, but my son hit 2 to 3 and pulled the ball out of each one). One thing we really liked was having the GPS system on the golf carts, easy to read and we’re for the most part totally automated. We did have to tell it to go to hole 17 when we arrived at the tee box, for some reason it was still reading home 16. Friendly staff, very hospitable, we will definitely go back. $39 for the round was a great price for a Sunday round, imo. Total round play was 3:45, of course being first to tee off helped.
Okay, but better hit the fairways..
Nice staff, I played 18 holes in 3.5 hrs. I should’ve hit more fairways, that’s my fault. But, with the grass in myrtle beach, if the rough is over 2” tall. You’re not finding you’re ball. I hit 3 tee shots that just missed the fairway by a few yards, and lost all 3 balls because the rough was at least 4-5”. I don’t think they had cut new hole locations for a while or someone else needs to cut the cups. Too many lips outs with making good putts. Descant lay out, would help the more you play it to know where to miss. Put myself in bad positions a few times by now really knowing where to miss at. I would play it again for the same price, no higher.
Diamond
This facility has made an incredible change for the better. Anytime I am staying on the north side//this course is on top of the list because of it's Value and condition
Nice local course
First time playing this course. Fairways in great condition. Lot of work being put into greens. Very good course for an average golfer or family.
Happy
A very nice course. In town for a few days , I checked it out on line . Glad I got to play it. Really nice layout ,
Love this course
The group that we come down with always wants to play this course. The people are friendly and the course is in fairly good condition. They were sodding a few places that had washed out due to excessive rain. We liked the greens and the challenge of the holes.
Practice area was closed, learned when we got there
That's my biggest beef. This course is obviously in the process of being built up, which is fine, and the green fees reflect this. However I do have a problem with the practice area being closed and not knowing it prior to showing up for my tee time. I showed up a full hour prior just to be able to hit balls and couldn't, so the communication is lacking. Many areas under repair, but did not think it was bad for what we paid to play there. Good, affordable golf, but need to work on informing those from out of town that the practice area is closed, especially during the season.

First time
First time playing here. I would play again. Course was in good shape. Greens were consistent even with the heat and rain. Would come back again.
It's summer vacation so you have to expect slow play, course in great condition. Tees and greens very good.
Great Greens
Well taken care of. Greens brake the way you see it. Best putting Greens I've played this entire year. Course had an " old time" feel. Not to long, definitely some target holes, made you play a wide selection of clubs. Will be playing there again, soon. Real pleasure!
Pleasure to play
I found the course to be extremely fair, it has very senior friendly tees. Greens are extremely challenging but fair. I didn't play them but it you want an extreme challenge, strap on your big boy shoes and play the black tees, unbelievably loooong. Over all, very enjoyable. .Will definitely play there again on my next trip.
Boys on the run.
We played 36 holes this day. This was the second 18. It was hot but we still had a great time.
Great course. Long Round
As others have mentioned, pace is far too slow. We started about 15 late and waited at least 15 minutes on one tee box on the back side. Great course and in great shape.. just sucks the fun out of it when you’re waiting so long. Easily a 5 hour round
Hi Mr. Parsons,
Sorry the pace of play yesterday is not what was expected. I know any round we like to have a good pace to produce a good score. I know we try to create foursomes whenever possible which evens the speed between groups.
Nice course but play is s way too slow
The course is in good condition and the staff is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there was no Marshall and pace of play was very slow. It was a very hot day and took 5 hours to play. That takes away the fun. Also there was no beverage cart so no opportunity to get ice or cold drinks except at the turn.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Great Long Challenging Course
This was a fun course. It was long and challenging. But as novice golfers, we walked away feeling good. The people who run this course are really the best part of the experience. Everyone was so hospitable. Instead of going to another course for our last day golfing, we are coming back to Eagles Nest Tomorrow!
Fun day
Great course. They are working on the course. There was a couple of places they were putting in new sod where the heavy rains washed out. The only thing I didn't understand was that we couldn't get bloody mary's.
Hi! Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Eagle Nest Golf Club!
