Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Best course layout and challenge

Layout is spectacular

A few bumpy greens but overall good conditions, be prepared for fast and tricky puts

Tee boxes and fairways what I expect from this type of course

Also very fair for ladies my wife enjoyed the challenge from gold tees (5200 yds)

Definitely a must stop for your golf vacation

I will book a second round on this trip for certain

Lonely Again

I enjoyed he course but was very disappointed that I had to play as a single. I am in MB alone to start with so enjoy meeting people through a round of golf. Can’t understand why any course would say how busy they are and yet allow (or in my case insist) that one golfs as a single. A couple went out alone followed by a foursome then me as a single and a guy behind me as a single. Makes no sense whatsoever!

Really enjoyed playing this course.

Lovely lay out, very friendly staff and pace of play was good. The course is challenging, especially when playing into the wind. The greens are a bit bumpy but are filling in nicely. Some of the ground around the greens are bare but overall the course is in great shape. Really enjoyed playing this course and would recommend it.

Pretty mediocre

First course I've played in Myrtle Beach so I don't have a good comparison yet, but I'd rate Eagle Nest pretty mediocre even compared to my home courses. Played in mid April, so the course wasn't in top season form. Seemed like lots of repairs going on to sprinkler system, patchwork areas throughout the fairways to cover up trenching. Greens were really weird, with two types of grass growing at different rates so they were really bumpy. Staff was really friendly and helpful, pro shop was nice with lots of choices to buy logo gear. Snack bar was really basic, no bar to speak of. Driving range was too narrow as well, people were waiting in line for spots to hit. Cheapest round I booked while on this vacation, so maybe I got the value I paid for.

Beautiful course

Really enjoyed the layout. The greens need work, weed patches on most prevented a true roll like the practice green. Would definitely play it again.

My bad.

Everything was ready for me to have a great round. My clubs and I did not get the memo. Not awful but I don't think I hit two really good shots in a row more than a couple times. The greens were fine and I putted VERY poorly. I will go back there and hopefully play up to the course. It was great-I wasn't.

poor condition

Course was in poor condition for the money, poor site lines off of tees.

Fairways were like concrete, and not overseeeded.

Greens topdressed and fast on back, bumpy on front nine.

Challenging Greens

The course was in great shape, greens are relatively small, quick and lots of crowns and breaks.

Friendly staff, nice facility. Pace of play slowed the last 4 holes due to the challenge ahead.

Would play again. Thanks

Terrible course

Course had new trenches through out course criss crossing the fairways with sand in them not sodded which they should have been, we think for irrigation. greens had just been sanded. Nothing mentioned about that at time of booking. Very very dry like golfing on concrete!

Paid a lot of money to play here, was looking forward to it as we had played many years ago and it still had good reviews, so not worth it

DO NOT PLAY HERE a rip-off!!!

There are several courses we have already played much cheaper and in good shape.
