Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Very poor condition, good layout.

First time playing here. Played because it was one of the few courses open on XMas. Paid $46.

The layout is good with some challenging holes. Many holes needed much forethought with first and second shots.

Fairways were the worst. Not overseeded, so brown dead grass. So many bare patches and unmarked ground under repair. The driving range bucket was $8, which contained overused junky balls. There was a single, a twosome, and a foursome ahead of our foursome, then a sixsome behind us…fortunately we were able to play at a normal pace.

It is a pity that the fairways, greens, the driving range, other facilities like toilets were so badly run down. I would have enjoyed playing the course under good conditions.

The worst course I have played in Myrtle Beach in 20 years…

Nice Course, Terrible Pace of Play

We just finished a 4hr 45 min pace of play at this course stuck behind the slowest 4 some. Upon mentioning our frustration to the Marshall

He laughed and nothing changed! We should have need able to finish less than 4 hours with a 12:40 tee time. Also, had no snack cart and the line to get snacks/drinks at the clubhouse was 6 deep waiting on one lady to make ham and cheese sandwiches from fresh to order.

The course was beautiful, but definitely too many other courses I’ll play at than play here again considering the total blatant disregard for our time!

Enjoyable Round

After a short frost delay, we played very quickly. Course was in good shape, although the greens were a little bit slow. Bunkers are nice and work has been done to reseed the tees as well. Staff are very friendly and professional. Would highly recommend it.

Loved the Course

The tee blocks needed to be trimmed, but otherwise a great course. You can see they are working on the fairways. Although the yardage looks short from the reds, the layout makes it challenging, especially with the water crossing the fairways. We loved having the GPS and course layout yardages included, we will definitely be back.
