Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Fast early round, nice layout.

I had a 746 tee time, and at 735 the starter said I could head off as a single. Played the front 9 in 45 minutes, the back 9 took almost an hour(I played poorly on the back). Finished at 920am. Greens were great. Fairways were very good in most spots (many areas recently had been resodded, which I like to think of taking care of the course and not a negative). A little different having all sand cart paths, but they were well marked and in good shape. Very nice layout I would gladly play again.

Excellent condition.

Everything was top notch starting with a friendly and efficient check-in and start a little early. It was an unusually cold morning for which we were not quite prepared. After nine holes we made a quick stop for coffee at the pro shop/snack bar. The manager was very gracious and gave us complementary hand warmers to start the back nine. Overall, Eagle Nest has become one of our favorite Myrtle Beach courses.

Great Course

Is a great course with some great looking doglegs for the money, only negative was the lack of a ranger policing slow play. Ranger was present but didn't address slow play from team of 4 in front of us hitting what appeared to be 8-12 stokes per hole.

The course and staff though was awesome for the money I would like to return again one day.

Fun, tight course good greens.

Greens were firm, fair & fast enough to make putting a little stressful: very well done Eagles Nest. Go play it if in Little River, SC and he accurate off the tee to have the most fun.

Slow play

Great course but slow play. The start times aren’t spaced out more than a few minutes between groups. Of course the more people on course, the more they make…..but sitting in line on multiple holes gets old and we often divert to another course because of it. The course is in great shape and well laid out. Fun to play but plan on a long afternoon.

Good value

Overall a pretty good course. Fairways and greens are ok. Sandtraps need some work. I like the layout.

Nice Course, Slow Play

Nice course, good fairway grass, good greens, challenging holes, friendly staff. The day we played, a group of 4, two teams ahead of us played as slow as ever I have seen. We gave up the last 4 holes and left. The course manager saw us leave, apologized, and gave us a 9-hole rain check. Great guy.
