Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Worth the Trip

Fairways were wide. Bunkers in good condition. Greens were challenging, and that's OK.

Great track

Easy check in. Nice range and friendly staff. Winter so grass was dormant but greens ran smooth and fast. Little slow pace but we did not mind, still finished in 4 hours and 10 min. Would definitely come again.

Nice gos carts

A terrible misty overcast day that should have cleared but didn't until the end of play. So cart path only a nd those gps carts made sure you stayed on the path. I believe maybe four other golfers braved the weather so wide open course no waiting,. The constant protecting, cleaning . drying and wiping clubs, cart seat , bag made for a four hour round . Still better than the NY conditions, cold and snowy.

Beginning Winter Season

Great time as always on this course. Let a foursome proceed ahead of us because we needed time to use the clubhouse. They never really slowed us down and we kept up. There was no one scheduled to go out behind us for an hour so I thought all would be good. As we rolled up to the first tee, six people magically appeared. The starter could have held them at least for ten minutes, but no, sent them before we even teed off. Pretty common down here at the beach. Don’t get me wrong, course and staff were great, but courses will top load when they can for that extra dollar before closing so be patient, it isn’t the golfers fault most of the time.

Beautiful layout and a long challenging course

We loved playing this course. It’s in great condition with lots of challenges but the forward tees allowed me a senior woman golfer to play right along with 3 very good men. I hit straight fairway shots but not as long as before. This course was so enjoyable we will be back next year.
