Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Nice Course, Slow Play

Nice course, good fairway grass, good greens, challenging holes, friendly staff. The day we played, a group of 4, two teams ahead of us played as slow as ever I have seen. We gave up the last 4 holes and left. The course manager saw us leave, apologized, and gave us a 9-hole rain check. Great guy.

Eagle Nest

First time playing this course. Nothing too memorable about this course other than a couple holes. Mid October conditions were very dry. Doesn't seem like they have much irrigation on this course. Greens are the most difficult part of this course as they run off on the sides. Speeds are tough to gauge.

Ok if you can get a GN deal under $50.

Not What They Claim

Eagles nest claims to have the most beautiful finishing holes in the grand strand. I disagree. The course needs some work. What is irritating to me is that I could have played Myrtle Beach national south or west course for the same money and had better food and better course conditions. This course should only cost about $40.

Excellent course for the money

When we arrived, we were told that they were about 20 minutes behind because of some big groups earlier. So, we did tee off about 20 minutes past our tee time and were paired with two great guys. The pace of play was slower because of the delay but ended up with an average time for a round of golf. Course in great shape, some challenging holes, especially the last three. Great value for the money and staff was wonderful.

Not greatest condition

Everything was fine but don't think the course conditions justify the price. Finding it that way pretty much everywhere down here on the Grand Strand. The courses where i am from cheaper and in better condition.

Nice Layout and Conditions

Enjoyed our round at Eagle Nest. Layout kept us challenged and course was in great shape. Nice carts with hole-view, gps and music if that’s your thing.

Staff was great in explaining basic layout of property so we didn’t get lost since this was our first time.

I’d play there again.

Good round

Nice track. Tough but room to play entire bag. Senior players have tees for their game. Overall, I’d give it a 8 out of 10. Course maintenance ongoing but not a problem.
