Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Great course, will be back for sure

Played this course 2 days after the tropical depression rolled through. Course was in great shape after 3 inches of rain. only 3 holes were cart path only. I really like the layout, some truly challenging holes.

eagle experience

We played Eagle Nest on 8/28. It was a very hot day and we couldn't get early tee time as there was a group of 24 ahead of us.Pace was good until someone rolled their cart into a pond.Things slowed to a crawl after 6th hole.Staff was very apologetic but took us over 5 hrs on a 90+ heat! Course was in decent shape and we will definitely play here again soon.

Fun layout, but tough

Starter was organized and gave a good course overview prior to us teeing off. Greens had been aerated recently, which is a bit irritating, had lots of sand on them, and it was hard to get a consistent line. It was fairly crowded and the pace was slow, but we still got through in around 4 1/2 hours. Tough course the first time you play, so playing it a couple of times would make it a bit easier. It was in decent shape, other than the sandy greens. and fairly wide open. Hole layout was fun, you get to use every club in the bag. Fees were okay I guess, but I think golf is too expensive overall, so some might feel they’re just fine. I’d play the course again at some point.
