Ventura Country Club

Great layout and was in great condition. Brutally hot afternoon - they have water fountains and restrooms throughout the course. This was our first time playing Ventura and I’ve read a few comments about the layout upgrades and changes they’ve completed recently. Our scoring and yardage app was still reflecting the previous layout - best to use a rangefinder for approach yardages. Overall a fun play!

Playing in Orlando for the past 13 years and concluded Ventura is the best course in the area after today’s round. Long story short, back in January was playing with a couple in Rio Pinar and they’ve mentioned Ventura was spending a million dollars to renovate the course.

The course layout still the same and the cart path was in bad sharp so I was kind of disappointed at first. It turns out the course condition was completed different. How do I describable it? I only 3 putt one hole and the rest were 1 or 2 (1 usually lead to birdie) – The most consistent green speed and the best green condition that I ever played in Orlando or anywhere else in the country. I was chipping like pro – only clip the grass and not dig into the dirt. My drive was super powerful because the tee boxes were firm and I was able to leverage my leg power. My irons were flush and for the 1st time I played from the Black which was very fun except that long water hole. (Too greedy and draw into the water to the Left but I would make it if just go for the right side)

I was playing in Remington yesterday and Grande Vista day before – I was sucks, 2 - 3 putt every hole, bad drives and fat iron shots. No of these happen while playing in Ventura, it’s green, tee boxes, fairway and 1st rough were perfectly firm with grass and ball sticks to the green, therefore I was playing very well.

Maybe I need to go to nice course like Ventura instead of try to figure out why I fat my irons or 3 putts. LOL.

Had to say the course was firing on all cylinders. And greens, alters were good and flush, not much impeding grass or weeds. I will definitely recommend!

As a longtime golfer who visits the Orlando area quite often, I always try to play new courses. This one is a gem! Appropriately challenging yet fair. Fairways lush…tees full & level…greens immaculate & true. I will def be coming back here again and again! (I picked up a “Hot Deal” on GN, but totally worth the full price!)

Played 13 holes and then it began to rain. We stopped for cover. It then stopped raining and we began to play again. We made it to hole 15 (mid fairway) and were approached by staff that the course was closed and to finish the hole head back to the club house, which was strange since it stopped raining completely. I requested if they would give any type of refund or discount since we could not complete the round, which he denied. Which was a bummer. I understand we were nearly complete and they can’t control the rain. Just feel it turned a good experience bad! Overall good course. I will come back. But I will mention it to the clubhouse when I play next time.

Played Ventura CC yesterday and really enjoyed it. The course was in great condition. I recommend this course to others looking for a great course that’s not too expensive.

The course is in great condition, tees to greens. Interesting layout that requires thoughtful shot-making. The greens are speedy and undulating, which enhances the challenge. I'll be back!

The redesign is great- new enlarged undulating greens, tee boxes have been moved and the course is much more challenging. But the course is very playable for high handicap players as several bunkers have been removed and greens repositioned that allow a clear approach. But the ease of green access has been offset by the increased green size that uses severe undulation and closely moved areas that send approach shots- left, right or long into the water. For those who have played Ventura before- it will take 1 round to adapt to the changes. The greens are in good shape but were slow - either because of the heavy rain the day before or they need more time to develop. The staff is great, very friendly. The practice area is larger and improved. The only thing lacking is a driving range on site. If you have played here before and this is your 1st time back since the redesign- just look at the 18th hole while on the practice green - it will give you a good idea of what to expect.
