Ventura Country Club

While house sitting in Winter Garden we opted to play Ventura based on the on line reviews and the proximity to where we were staying. I will start by saying that I’ve been nursing a abdomen muscle pull and I decided to play from the front tees with my wife so I wasn’t tempted to over do it. It didn’t matter one bit because my thoughts on the experience would be the same as if I played the tip, which only measure about 6000 yards, but that’s the distance I play from at my home course. The course was immaculate! Tee to green. The staff was on point and the pace of play was great. The greens were smooth and healthy. I was only in one sand trap, there was plenty of sand and while I had an awkward lie I found the sand very playable. There’s a bunch of water but there’s plenty of ways to avoid it.

A great day on the course. It’s only a few miles from our house sitting spot so we will be back next time around for sure.

I can think if only two negative items: the cart paths are made of crushed shells and due to not,Al drainage there were many that had ruts in them which made the ride pretty bumpy at times and the paths to a few of the tee boxes were not marked very well so we made a couple of wrong turns. (No big deal).

Enjoyed my short time playing the course, had to leave due to thunderstorms. Pro shop guy was nice but said they don’t offer rain checks. Only course I’ve ever been too where you don’t get a rain check for rain. Only thing keeping this form a 4/5 star rating

Brand new greens, excellent layout. Best in East Orlando

The fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great condition. The beverage cart came around frequently.

Only bad thing was how I played on the front nine.

The long par 3s from the back tees are tough.

Not bad on drainage. Must play approach short 10 yards shorter due to firm greens even in wet conditions.

The new layout and changes tot he greens, lengthening and reshaping some of the holes and overall condition of the course was great. Venture can be a very challenging course, especially from the Blue or Black Tees. The changes have really improved the course, the pace of play was great and it doesn't seem to get backed up in places it use to. The course is always well maintained throughout the year too. Not to mention the drinks are reasonable and the meals are great too. We really enjoyed the overall experience. I'll be back again shortly.

Ventura gets a bad rap for being short ... then play it from the tips! I'm a skilled player who doesn't hit it far anymore and I thoroughly enjoy Ventura even before the renovations. The new greens arw fabulous and lengthening the course makes it a tougher test. New tee boxes have changed the lines in a fun way. Only problem is it's a hacker's paradise so pace of play can get slow for those who know what they're doing and are cognizant of that. I'll be back in the summer as this place gets crowded in the winter.

Good course. Booked quick tee time two hours prior. Good value for the money

Greens are excellent. Fairways are very good. Staff is great.

Some of the tee boxes are a bit beat up, but that is the least of my worries when I play as long as the greens and fairways are playable.

A "short-ish" course but can be deceivingly difficult due to the water canals and ponds that border many holes.

Greens are in very good shape and can be tough to read.

Played a fun round on this course with my so for an early Father’s Day gift. While relatively short, the course is fun to play.

My only critique is that the fairways are very dry and hard as the parking lot. Please water them!
