Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Augustine
Place is great. Layout is beautiful. Liked playing but continually noticed how course lacked attention to detail to little things like cart path maintenance. The greens are shot. Don’t know if casualty of weather or mgnt. neglect, but a real burden to the value of the round. Augustine would be a 5 star course if it committed resources to maintenance
Friendly staff
I’m sure that the conditions were a little ruff on the greens due to the weather lately
It is a very intriguing course
Worth a visit or more.
Great Round, Great Course
First time playing since spring, the course is very much improved from early in the year. Fairways, tees and roughs were all in generally very good shape. The greens just a little thin due to the recent heat.
Had a great day, pace was excellent, staff was great as always. Grille room was top notch
Will play again soon!
Great staff
Good course , but I am a beginner , great staff , not rushing you or watching over your game .
Not what it used tto be
It's been 3 years since I played there until yesterday. The course is now in poor shape and poorly managed. They now allow golfers on the course to play music while they play. I asked general manager and they said they allow this. Done with this dirt track
Course conditions
The course conditions were absolutely horrible!!! The tee boxes were in horrible shape. You couldn’t even tell the difference from the fairways to the rough because of so much crab grass growing in the fairways. The greens however were in the greatest shape and rolled so true. All in all I wouldn’t recommend playing this course for the money.
Slow as slow can be.
Pretty awful experience this past Friday morning. It was stacked up from the beginning with three groups on the 1st hole.
Front nine took a little over 3 hours...... I mean come on! Remove some tee times or something to space it out a bit.
Course was in pour condition as well. It has good bones but needs a lot of TLC.
Definitely think twice about playing here.
Improvement is progressing!
Having read several reviews being highly critical of Augustine I was very hesitant to drive down from Alexandria. After playing this past Tuesday I must say the extremely critical reviews are kind of deceptive. True the tee boxes could use some work and in fact are being given new sod on several holes. The greens are smooth and roll true. There are some, not extensive bare spots in the fairways but calm down and move the ball an inch or two and find some Bermuda grass. If you need perfect conditions go to Potomac Shores and pay 120.00. Finally, there were workers all over the course working to improve the course. Drive down 95 and give the course a chance.
Nicely Laid out
Course was a good value. Driving range was okay, and staff was pretty friendly. Played with a young man who knew the course, Not well marked for yardages, bring your GPS, none on cart. Pretty good up and down fairways, good slope on greens. Plenty of water coolers on course, and restrooms each 9 holes. Liked it and will play it again.
Augustine June 2019
This was my first time playing course. The neighborhood is excellent. Well maintained yards and houses. No problems with parking but I would imagine on a very busy day it could be tight. The club house and pro shop are really nice. Not sure about the dining options as I did not eat at club house. Personnel are nice as well. Talkative and polite. The carts are basic with no usb or gps. They are pretty speedy and were good to drive. The course is a fun course. Open and playable. Bunkers were a bit hard and some parts of the fairways could use thicker coat of grass. Greens were great. Play was pretty slow. Super nice day and everyone decided to get a round of golf in. The course made me want to play it again. I will be back.
Ground Under Repair
This course needs work!! Almost all of the fairways have large sections of ground under repair. The bunker sand is way too thin, like hitting off of bare ground. I should have got a hint by the sparsely filled parking lot at 9:00am on a Saturday
Great layout
One of the better courses in the northern Virginia area. Tee boxes and a few fairway areas were a little spotty, bout overall the course condition was fine. Good value under an hour from DC.
Layout and condition
Course has a very interesting and challenging layout with trees, water, sand, doglegs and blind shots. However the grass was burnt out in the tee boxes and fairways, playing off dirt on many shots. Greens not in good shape and sand needed raked. The course is not being kept up.
Terrible conditions
Played twice last year and it was pristine.
Now fairways are shot and in places completely gone.
This is aside from all the fallen trees and branches which will take some time to pickup.
Lacking
Course was in terrible condition. Tee boxes were horrible, mostly dirt , crabgrass or sand. There was very little grass on any tee box.Fairways were below expectations with significant patches of dirt. Traps were thin on sand and many had canvas liners protruding through the little sand. Course should stop advertising about being top 10 anything. It is a cow pasture with boundaries. I don't golf often but, doubt I would ever play this course again.
