Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Greens in terrible condition
Greens were in terrible condition. Totally baked out and lots of weeds.
Augustine Golf Course
Enjoyed playing the course. The course needs more yardage markers on each hole.
Great Track
I have played here a few times and really enjoy it each time. The greens and fairways were in great shape which always makes the round better. The staff was very accommodating when I called due to traffic issues. Every staff member I encountered was both helpful and friendly-a welcome change from some courses. I highly recommend this course for all levels of players provided they choose the right tee. NOTE: players-fix your ball marks and divots!!!
This course has great
This course is beautiful and enjoyed very much.
I enjoyed with my friends.
Great course - will play again if in the area again
This is a great course. I wish it were closer to DC but I would recommend this course to anyone when they are going to be near Stafford, VA. The greens were in good shape and the overall course is kept in very good condition.
Great value
Have played here before and it appears to be getting better every time. Sand bunkers need little more maintenance, other than that, was very enjoyable.
Sandy tees
Have played there several times lately. Greens have recovered from spring aeration and treatment. They are working on the tee boxes now; tee boxes have been aerated and today they were being heavily sanded. Tough to get solid footing on the tees right now. Should be better in a week or so. They really need to work on the greenside bunkers and possibly add some fresh sand; sand in these bunkers was very compacted. Still a great layout and a fairly good value.
A real gem.
Since they revamped the course a few years back they have been steadily improving. With exception for a few quirky holes at the start, this is a fun track with lots of challenging yet fair shots. The conditions of the course were stellar, including some pretty fast greens. At only $49 for a 9am Sunday round the value is tough to rival.
superintendent is an agronomy god
Course is in excellent condition, best greens in the area. The superintendent deserves a lot of credit for revitalizing the property, moving the needle and fixing it now.
Back on track
Very pleased with how the course is making its way back to how nice it once was. The ownership and staff have really done a great job with course maintenance and upkeep, there are still some areas that need attention but overall course looks and plays well. For the area this course is by far the best option as far as course condition/ price/ pace of play.
I will 100% be playing Augustine more and more this year! Great job and thank you to the staff and ownership for bringing this course back to what it once was!!
Augustine - Great Round
Excellent conditions, challenging but not overly difficult course, great greens. The four of us enjoyed our game.
Expected better but good course nonetheless
Recent rains kept the course relatively wet so cart path only rules were enforced and made for challenging play. Expected fairways to be in better condition, as they seemed rather sparse in some areas. Greens however were the best I've ever played and consistent from hole to hole. Staff was very friendly and made the day enjoyable.
5/24/16 Augustine
Great challenging course with wonderful customer service.
Up and Down
I used to play this course all the time back around 2004-5. One of my absolute favorites. Fantastic layout, gray conditions. I played it 2 years ago in June and could not believe the conditions. The course looked as if it was Mid January during the harshest winter of all time. It was the only time I have ever wanted to tell the Pro Shop how I felt. I wanted to give it another shot in January so I called the Pro Shop and asked if the course was 'green', because most courses were because of the mellow winter. I arrived and the only 'green' part of the course was some of the fairway rough and the greens. The fairways were as brown as it gets. After the round I was so disappointed that I was lied to by an employee just to get my money that I nicely mentioned something after the round. They took my email down and said they would send me a voucher to come back out and give it another shot. After reading recent reviews I want to do that, give it another shot. However, I never received an email regarding my voucher. Do I give it a shot? I don't know. But man I used to love this course...I have probably played it 15 times despite an hour drive to get there. Hmm....
Excellent greens
Was glad to see the sun for first time in what seems like forever. Course was wide open (Mothers Day) and the sky was clear. Cart path only will wear you out at Augustine. Gusty wind blew debris from trees onto green. That's Mother Nature. No complaints about course. I'm sure we will return.
Give the greens keeper a raise!
First time playing this course this year. The greens were the best I have seen here. It is easy to see the effort put in to make the course better.
Fun Course to Play
Augustine is a local course that reminds me of a Country Club course. First hole is a split fairway but doesn't really matter which one you shoot for. Definitely some challenging holes but you can still enjoy yourself if you are an occasional golfer like myself. They are demonstrating personal "carts" called Golf Boards, looks like fun but in the heat of the sun I like a cart with a roof. Definitely will play again and again.
My Favorite Layout
One of the best layouts I've played. Each hole offers up a different challenge and there sceneries and landscapes are fantastic. The conditions could be a little better, but Augustine has undergone a few ownership changes in the past few years, and it has taken a lot to get it where it is today. Staff is incredibly friendly. Just wish there was a practice bunker/chipping green.
Great design
I think this course has one of the best layouts in northern Virginia. Unfortunately, the fairway grass has not begun to grow and the fairways were thin. When the grass grows in I would give the course conditions another star or two.
There are elevation changes and water comes into play on some holes. The fairways are trapped fairly. The greens were in excellent condition although they had been spiked(small not large aeration holes). Two foursomes allowed us (two) to play through. Staff was very friendly. We will return!
My favorite track
A little chewed up around the greens and rough in spots, but still a great layout and value
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
Thank you for your patronage over the years at Augustine. We look forward to having you come back to visit us soon. The course is in great shape - albeit very wet from the weather the last few weeks. Please contact me directly @ dwieder@raspberrygolfmgmt.com and I can help arrange a tee time.
