Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Staff was super friendly.
Course was in great shape for the beginning of April. Greens were just aerated. Great shape but super fast. Staff were all smiling and in good moods. Golfing was a great experience. But what day is a bad day of golf? LOL
Not now...maybe later
The fairways had zero grass in them. The greens were decent. There were few water hazards and the bunkers had reasonably good sand. There were a lot of woods off the edges of fairways and most had deep leaves.
Frist out
This is a beautiful course, it will be even nicer when spring takes hold. Each hole is very different and the pin placements were testing. Staff are great at this course
Early in the season
Got a great deal on GolfNow.com. Course always offers range balls with the round, so this is a plus. Staff was very friendly and helpful. March in the Mid-Atlantic region offers some great days to play golf and the day we played was one of them. It is still early in the season and the course is not in its best condition. Fairway growth is spotty with some weeds growing. Greens need to have some spring conditioning. Lots of ball marks (come on golfers, fix yours and 1 more!). Look forward to playing here in a fe more weeks when the course has a chance to grow in and the greens staff has time to improve the conditions.
A little early
March golf in this area is spotty at best. Augustine is one of my favorite layouts; that being said, the fairways and greens need some early season attention. Not sure if they aerate and top dress in the spring, but the greens are in need of serious attention! Fairways and all bunkers need some work as well! Glad this was a GolfNow round, as the course conditions do not warrant full price yet this spring! Looking forwards to better conditions soon.
Mixed Review
The staff was very friendly and efficient. Pace of play was good. Course had poor layout - had to walk too far from cart path to green and cart path to tee and was either uphill or downhill. The greens were in good condition but a lot of weeds on the fairways.
Long, Long round!
Terrible long round. As a threesome, we had to wait close to 5 minutes between each shot. Club has implemented a three-strike rule for slow players. They only dished out two strikes to the folks in front of us even after calling in after 2/3s of round. The club was fair and apologized by giving us 2for1 discounts for later play.
Great course
The course is very well maintained and the staff has always been friendly and accommodating. It's a challenging course for low handicappers but playable for mid to high handicappers. Only issue is on the first hole (split fairway) if you hit to the right side fairway and drive to the end of the cart path, you have to turn and go all the way back around to reach the green and number two tee, due to the an impassable area that is under construction. Always love playing here- again, great course.
one of my favorite courses in NO VA
Great course somewhat more difficult in cool late season conditions-- wakeup call for first 2 holes can create big numbers ---grass has turned brown in the fairways and greens and rough sandy today--
one of the better Raspberry Trail courses --
driving range and practice putting green adjacent to NO 1 tees makes ontime golfers
Sorry Lads, it was really bad today.
Course was having a tournament which was very non golf. Extremely slow play. We payed for 18 and only played nine. Cart path only which is terrible on this course. Huge problem for everyone. It will be a long time before we come back and that includes the other two players we were with.
We apologize for your negative experience at Augustine. We only host our Greenskeeper Revenge formatted event once annually and it certainly is not how we typically would setup for a normal day on the course. Please contact me at dwieder@raspberrygolfmgmt.com so that we can provide you with a round on us to make up for the negative experience.

5* for Augustine Golf Club
We had a great day of golf at Augustine Golf Club in Stafford, VA. Much of that feeling is a result of great course condition and staff's excellent customer service.
We will most certainly return to this gem.
Augustine****4 Stars.
Great time. Course was great and weather was perfect. Free range balls was a plus. Great job Augustine.
Greens are back !
As one of the original members of Augustine back in 1995 I have experienced what the course used to be like (top rated by Golf Digest and nationally ranked) and then what happened afterwards with owners who did not live to the high standards of previous owners.
Well I am proud to say that Augustine is back with lightning fast greens, smooth as silk, challenging and true. The heart and soul of any golf course are the greens and this course now has greens which give it the character that is used to have. The tee boxes, fairways, rough and bunkers are also fine and of course the layout has not changed.
I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a challenge on the putting surface and a good solid round of golf. Congrats to Steve (Super) and Dave (G.M.)!
Very nice layout
Course is set up very nicely. It's in very good shape for this time of year. Possible to blow leaves off and trim rough around the greens? Losing balls just off the fairway is hard to swallow.
I like this course!!! view, greens, fairways...two thumbs up!!
I like this course!!! view, greens, fairways...two thumbs up!!
Well designed course
Good design. There aren't any gimmick holes. Fairly open but you can get into trouble if you get into the rough which is very thick.
good course at a discount
Taking advantage of discounted rates makes this course even more enjoyable.
Overall, course was in good condition with lush greens and think rough. Played front in heavy rain and was impressed with how well the course handled the water.
Always enjoy playing here and will return in the near future.
Augustine
Staff was more than friendly. Starter was a great guy saw the ranger once but after the first three holes the pace picked up and wasn't needed. Note to northern va golfers.... It's not real hard to fill a divot or fix a ball mark. The greens will putt a lot better oh and pick up your feet when you turn around on the green as you walk away from the pin. Twisting your spikes in the green doe no one any favors. This course is trying to get back to its heyday when they opened golfers can help that cause too play this layout as it is a good routing and a decent challenge
Course Conditions
The greens are in really bad shape. They say the did aeration ... but that was almost two weeks ago. It is a good course ... but they have let the greens go to where it is almost impossible to have a fun round when your ball doesn't roll true and consistently on the greens.
Super Course
The management has brought this course up to outstanding conditions. Highly recommend this course for anyone seeking a challenging course.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
The fairways, tees, and rough do not 'have' grass because it is dormant Bermuda grass. It will resume growth and begin 'green up' in the beginning of April.
At the first frost usually in November, warm season grasses go into a dormant state, usually in a blonde color. Near the last frost of spring, it breaks dormancy.
