Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Never Again
Poor conditions. Would NOT recommend this facility until a major improvement is made.I have played this course on many occasions and have never been disappointed it used to be one of the premier courses in our area.unfortunately now it's at the bottom of the barrel.
Excellent Greens
Greens were in phenomenal shape! Fairways are starting to come along with the warm weather. Will definitely play again soon and recommend this to others. Great value for the outstanding greens.
Hackman
Very nice. Some turf issues around greens. A few more weeks and Bermuda fairways will fill in more fully.
Rough condition...
So, this appears to have a nice layout and design... Only problem was the fairways were completely browned, soaked, messy. The rest of area golf course were green but not this one. Looks like they're doing a great rehab on the course but they should warn folks on the rough conditions until everything grows in...would like to play again but only after all the ills are rectified.
I play her regularly. They have Bermuda grass which is dormant in the winter/spring. It has also been a wet spring, and Bermuda does not take up water when dormant. The course has come a long way since new owners took over. It is worth a trip.
Great course
We played at the beginning of spring and a few days after a lot of rain so I was pleasantly surprised buy the course conditions. The fairways were dead, but it is what I expected. The greens were great. Playing from the blues, the course was plenty challenging. The staff was also very friendly.
Finally coming back...really.
Raspberry Golf is cleaning this place up... Will soon be better than ever!
Looking great already on the firs Day of Spring
Just one day after the first day of Spring, course looked great. Expect the course to be stellar during the summer golf season.
Yes Yes Yes !
Tee times were pushed back for frost delay. Free coffee and range balls .. Once we started, pace of play was good and course was in good shape after days of rain and frost. I'm sure this place greens up nicely in the spring in better weather.
No short cuts to get there 95 traffic is a bear. Overall well worth the traffic we'll definitely be back.
Thadcree
Very nice course, will be back when the weather gets better.
Great layout and variation between holes - greens are always in immaculate condition
Best part of this course is the fact that you can always count on the greens to be in great condition. I like the layout and length of Laurel Hill just as much, but for the money, the greens are not as smooth or as consistently paced/able to be judged as Augustine is. Really nice to know I can rely on that each time I play.
We had an 8 am tee time, which was pushed back to 8:30 for a frost delay, then back again to 9. A little inconvenient, but not much you can do about that - they opened the range up a half hour before the first tee time (ours) and opened up the kitchen for folks to grab a bite and free coffee.
It's as short course if you play from the middle tees, more of a controlled 3-wood and short iron in type of course unless you're a big hitter. As an 10-handicap with a 275 yard driver, I only pulled by driver once or twice I think the whole time...which made it interesting, much more of a strategic game than a power game.
Had a great time, would definitely recommend the course to anyone looking for a good deal (hot deals and/or the standard discount deals here on GolfNow more than make the fee worth it.
Very good
Excellent
We are very exhaustet. And we come once mohre
What a fun day
Played this course on the way home from Myrtle Beach. It's right off 95
I have played this course several times. It was in great shape, played in a little over 3 hrs as a twosome. The sand in the bunkers was firm but very easy to get out of. Greens were true and rolled true. Had a great day at a very reasonable price. We will be stopping here again.
Incredible Value
I played with a friend and it was both of our first time here. We were paired up with a father/son duo that had played here numerous times, which helped with some of the layout quirks. Not the longest course I've ever played as I hardly ever needed to hit long approach shots, save for the very reachable par 5's (playing from the blues). The rough was really long though, to the point that balls only one yard out of the fairway necessitated a search party. We found at least a dozen balls in the rough, not like we were scouring the woods. The greens rolled very well, if anything a little fast, but that's hardly a terrible thing. All in all, the course was in great shape, especially for the price. The employees were as friendly as you could hope for, especially the guys working the cart barn and the drink cart gal. We're already planning our return trip.
Think course management when playing at Augustine
You must think course management when playing at Augustine. The fairways were nice but some of the greens need work. Considering the time of the year, the course is great condition.
Dogs everywhere
Lots of little dog legs makes this a nice little challenge. Roughs where deep and you would walk right by your ball(if you could even find it). Found others that lost their's, so it evened out. The fairways seemed a little hard...a few club bounce stingers.
All the sand traps and bunkers where hard packed. I finally got the hint and pulled my ball. The greens saved the day...smooth!
They give you free tees and bag of balls to warm-up, a nice little touch.
Great day on the course...
Really enjoyed the course…they have it in great shape…greens could have been a little faster...
Awesome course and staff
Great course and great staff. Would recommend this course to all levels of players. Greens were very well maintained.
Course recently aerated
It was a beautiful day ! Unfortunately, the course was in poor condition. They had just aerated the day before and had done a poor job of it. Additionally, they had spread so much sand on the greens it made reading a putt impossible. I was also unhappy with the amount of grass clippings in the fairway, you were forced to clean your ball on every shot. The GM did offer us a discount on our next round, unlikely since it was a two hour drive for us. My advice to you is to call and ask about course conditions first. We got it as a Hot Deal, and aeration was not advertised.
I am an avid golfer, and with that understand when courses need to aerify greens to keep is healthy. It sounds like this golfer came on the wrong time. It is a great course, friendly staff, and back on my regular rotation. Thank you to the new owners for getting this back in shape.
Great Course and Staff
Great place to play. Greens were just aerated but not to bad. Awesome day, people were great. Overall great course!
Enjoyable Course
Beautiful course, very enjoyable round for bogey golfers from the white tees. Not long, but does involve some planning & accurate shots. Would definitely return & recommend. Excellent value for the price.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
The greens surrounds are being converted to Bermuda grass. Previously they were rye grass and had a lot of weed issues. It was started last season with some sodding. This spring; killing the weeds, fertilizing the Bermuda, and warm weather should bring the green surrounds up to par with the greens in a few more weeks. When the conversion is finished, they should remain in good condition and weed free.
