Founders Club of Pawleys Island

Second time visiting Myrtle Beach and second time visiting Founders at Pawley Island. Very well laid out holes plays challenging to the expert and amateur golfer alike.

Great course to play on, greens were good, fairways kept well too. Good pace for timely play

Definitely to be recommended

This is a tough course. The greens were running very slow (to me) and I never quite got the feel. In my opinion, the course was overwatered when I played it. I felt like I was playing a lot of shots from very soft lies on a rather nice day. Then it rained mid-round, and the soggy parts went from soggy to boggy. I'd like to try it again, but there are so many others in MB to play.

Very friendly staff, excellent layout. Very challenging with lots of water.

Longish cart rides across quiet roads between a few holes. Care required when crossing over.Very quiet as August..This meant we played at a good pace. Also the greens were all sanded in preparation for the upcoming season.Very slow greens. Finished at 3.45 and kitchen was closed, as place was quiet. Would like to return to play it when it was at its best as pretty good value.

First time playing. Greens had been sanded very recently but no notice of this on line when booking. Lots of dried out and dead grass in fairways and on a few tee boxes.

The layout of the course is nice and plenty challenging. Just not pleased with the conditions overall.

Failed to tell us that they had punched the greens and they would have done better by closing the course until they were decent

Founders club is the cheapest course in the pawleys island area but don’t let that sway you away from playing. The greens rolled true, were soft to hold approach shots and the tee boxes were groomed very nicely. Highly recommend Founders club if you want to save a few $$$ and still play a quality course.

Played today for first time, with my two sons. Check in was effortless and staff was friendly. Bag check fellas were great and explained course well. Loved natural areas, especially the option to drive thru them and around the greens on both sides. Course layout was fun and challenging for average golfer. As usual, for lower priced courses in Grand Strand area, the details were lacking. I dont understand why these lower priced courses can't weedeat, etc. The fairways, rough, tee boxes and greens were fine, but the superintendent should drive around the course and look for details. Weedeat around the bushes, markers, trees, etc. Clean up the parking lot, which is your front porch (first impression) especially for new players to your course. I do not like it when courses double tee in the am, and this was the case today. Made our front nine very slow. Back was much quicker, but I get why they do it. Overall, nice day. Just some constructive feedback for yall, hoping the course continues to thrive.

Only played the front nine but most tee shots make you actually have to think about tee shots and club usage. Tight fairways, greens roll pretty slow but very few of any patches at all. Course was in good condition would recommend.
