Absolutely Immaculate Track
Perfect fairways and green facilities, interesting and challenging layout, extremely scenic and peaceful with lots of nature to enjoy. Also one of the cheapest tee times available in the area at $51 a head on a hot deal in the afternoon. We will be back!
Favourite on PI trip
Played on a recommendation by Tradition starter. Well worth the money. Would play again.
Excellent!
We had a great time. The course was in good shape and the layout is challenging but very fair.
Staff
Great time for 3 novice golfers. Course was in surprisingly good shape for end of the season. The staff were all top notch, from the time we entered until the time we left. Customer service was great from the pro desk, marshals, drink cart, snack bar, to the maintenance personnel encountered on the course. We will definitely play again
Absolutely Beautiful
I read others reviews on this course and one stuck out in particular, “If you can find a tee time for under $100, this is a must play!”. I could not agree more. I was able to snag an 8:00 AM tee time for $85 and it was worth every penny. This course is gorgeous with the Spanish moss hanging from the trees, water surrounding a fair amount of the holes, wildlife, and some really cool and unique pieces of historical significance with plaques teaching you about the land you are playing on. I will definitely be playing this course again!
Play if you get a price under $100 in Prime Season
On vacation with friends and Willbrook Plantation was listed as a top 100 course for women so I booked via Myrtle Beach Network.
The website (and starter at course) made a point of saying there is water on 16 of the 18 holes but really it isn't in play very much from the red tees. Yes, there are holes with water and forced carries but a lot of the "water" is well off to the left or right of the fairways.
It's a very pretty course, it was in excellent condition considering the night before the course got 2 inches of rain (it was 90 degree except for one hole which was cart path only).
The staff was excellent and very friendly.
Course was a fair test for women from the red tees. The only hole that was really long was the 15th (Par5), 436 yards. It's long because the second shot is a forced carry over a marsh/tall grass area so for women that don't have a decent distance w/ driver they may need to layup.
A few tips:
(1) This was from the Pro at check-in. A lot of the holes have false fronts so it is good to club up and make sure your ball gets on the green. This was a great tip especially on a wet course with no roll.
(2) The 6th hole is the signature Island green, under 100 yards from red tees so not difficult to carry water but if you miss, miss right side of green (cart path side).
The reason I did not give a 5 start rating is because the carts were older with NO GPS and for prices close to $100 (a.m. tee time) I was surprised; and I asked if they had a yardage book and they "were out of them." So I just used my phone to see the layout of holes and had a range finder for yardages.
Also, yes, everyone was very friendly to us (women) but I didn't notice any other amenities that were like "wow, this is great for women." Not a negative but if you are advertising as "top 50 or 100 course for women," what does that actually mean?
Overall, I would play the course again just based on the layout of the course and enjoyment of playing it.
Great spring day for golf
Everything was perfect from bag drop to staff. Tee to green was perfect. I drove 50 minutes to play here and wasn't disappointed. It was CPO from an early rain but the course drained very good. Greens were smooth. This was my 1st time playing here in about 5 years and I'll be back in the fall or definitely next Spring.
Beautiful course in great condition
A beautiful course to play. From tee to green everything was in very good shape. Lots of history on this course. Saw a small alligator. Greens rolled very smooth. I look forward to playing here again in September. Pro shop and bag drop guys were very nice.
Southern charm
Busy Friday afternoon, but got around in 4 hrs. Many well-placed traps and numerous holes with water hazards. Greens were in good shape and rolled well.
Scenery golf perfect
Fast green, awesome fairways, good pace of play. Bring your camera and take some picture. Alligator on the course, just a very beautiful course
Nice track
We selected Willbrook last minute and we’re pleased with the course. The course runs through the community which has a great feel and look. Greens were consistent and well maintained. Play was steady but slightly slower for my taste at 4hrs 20min.
Definitely would return in the future.
