Hit it to 3ft, missed the putt. Photo submitted by JackStraw6 on 06/22/2017
Highly recommend you play this beautiful course with all its history and nice lay out!
Hope to play it again soon.
After the Rain
Played after an overnight heavy rain. Except for the puddles in many of the bunkers, course was in good condition. As the other times I’ve played here, I had an enjoyable time.
Willbrook rocks
Great layout, fairways were lush and full, greens were smooth and slick, running pretty quick, probably 10. Very friendly staff, it is a must play.
The greens were super.
The course was in great shape, but the greens were smooth, quick, and very interesting to putt on.
Beautiful course!
The course was in great shape for late in the season and the staff were very friendly and insightful on how we should play the course. The pace was perfect and the greens held true throughout the course. We had a great time!
Great course
Would definitely play again. Fairways and greens were in really good shape. Willbrook splurges for extra cushion in the cart seats. Not required but nice to have.
4 hours for 11 holes
The management need to find a better way to deal with large groups who take 6 hours to play a round.. Not only were we over a half hour late teeing off but after over 4 hours we only finished 11 holes and had to leave. Very disappointing considering the cost. I expected more. It was unfortunate as the course is nice and it may have been enjoyable....we'll never know!
Not so hidden gem
Willbrook golf plantation is sometimes referred to as a hidden gem. A gem it is, although not so hidden. The course does sit back from the main road through Litchfield and Pawley's Island, but it is not difficult to find. Nestled amongst several other top courses of the Grand Strand S.C., Willbrook is easily accessible. Upon arrival, there is staff available to get your clubs and check your Tee time. You pull up to what appears to be an old plantation house situated amongst old oak trees laden with Spanish moss. After checking in, you are directed to the starter near the putting green. He will either start you off of the front or back 9 and give you some advice on playing some of the holes. Throughout the course there are historical markers telling of some of the area's history. The layout is very nice, and water does come into play on almost every hole. However, it can be easily avoided on most with strategic planning. The fairways and greens were both in better shape than any of the other 3 courses I had played while in the area. Fairways were nicely trimmed and the greens were of moderate speed and rolled true. Price was a little more than other local course but not overpriced for the area and conditions. Play was at a slower pace due to time of day and year. (I played in mid July).A definite must if enjoying the area and looking for a fun round. And who knows, you might even see an alligator. I did.
Green conditions were terrible
Greens just punched and sanded. No warning when reserving tee time. Price way too high for greens conditions.
