Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa - Pete Dye Resort Course

Westin Mission Hills Pete Dye course is a challenging layout that is in great condition for early September. Greens a bit slow but run true, fairways are lush, and tee boxes are ok. Got paired with another single (with rider) on Labor Day and tee'd off at 1050am. We allowed another twosome to join us because the 4 some ahead of us played at a 5 hour pace. I recommend this course (especially for the deal I got) but the course really needs a marshal on weekends and holidays to enforce pace of play.

Traditional style lay-out. Interesting design. Rough was longer and more difficult than usual due to lots of recent rain. Greens were a bit slow (due to recent rain, lack of mowing). Course is in better shape than many others in the area. Will definitely play it again.

Check in was done in seconds. Course conditions were good despite the weather being 118 degrees the five days prior to our round. The staff was friendly and we will be back next year to play this course again.

The layout of the course is excellent. Maybe a little easier than most Pete Dye courses, but still challenging with well placed bunkers. Played in August so it was hot. The course was not in great shape. Poor tee boxes and lots of burnt out areas. More accessible ice would be nice as well when you're playing at 110 degrees. Greens in pretty good shape. All in all a fun experience and a good value.

Was able to play this course at 11am for only $38. Best money spent of my life. Course was very well maintained and the staff was fantastic. Definitely would recommend.

No facility for disabled people. Attendant would not disarm the golf cart so I could go close to the green. I am a severely handicapped person cannot walk far. I ended up quitting the course on hole number 10.

All staff was griendly and welcoming, what a beautiful course and very well kept! Got a birdie on 17

For summer time in the desert it was very good. You just have to play before course maintenance which is twice a year.

It’s summer here in The Desert, so it was understandably a tad dry, but still in great condition.

If you're like me, you read the most recent course reviews to determine course condition. In the Coachella Valley that is critical as greens get punched and sanded, dry up, or can change very quickly. As of 7/28/23, the course and greens were in very good condition. There was some burn on a couple of greens, but not so bad that it was unplayable.

As always Pete Dye greens are tough..these ones no exception but lots of fun

First couple of greens were “fuzzy” as if they hadn’t been mowed for a few days. Most greens after we’re heavily sanded. We weren’t warned of this when we booked or before we played

This is an awesome layout with very interesting shots but very playable for a mid level handicapper. Greens had been sanded a couple days before I played so they were pretty slow but still fun. Several greens were Pete Dye signatures with 5 - 10 foot elevated greens which punished you if you came up a little short OR long, you'd roll off. Fairways were mostly good with some brown areas on almost every one of them but still very playable. LOVED the use of water for interesting views and challenging but not overly demanding. There was still a lot of room for mid handicappers. Pace of play was great. Never had to wait even though I was a single.
