Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa - Pete Dye Resort Course

Well to our surprise the course was recently aerated and the greens were sanded. On another note the flag colors did not correspond with the position. There was a blue flag that was placed in forward position on the green. The starter told us red white blue flags but he did not mention we had to guess what position they would be in.

First time playing this coarse and it was amazing well kept greens very challenging every hole good times

Poor condition with huge bunkers on way too many holes. Altogether would never play again.

Pretty excited to play this course but what a shame it took 5 hrs to play and it was in the summer

We didn’t get to finish because we go food on hole 9 and the staff said we took to long and the course was completely empty. Wouldn’t go back.

There are better courses for the money than this. Parking is offsite and you need a shuttle to get to the clubhouse. You also need to get parking validated by attendant because it’s intertwined with hotel parking.

Our cart didn’t have water or sand and there was no one at the turn to fill up either. Snack bar was really hard to find and took us quite a while to get in and out of. The display on the cart was small and not interactive. Made playing the first time harder than it needed to be.

Course itself is on the shorter side but makes up for it with small greens, homes along most courses, and tricky pin placements. Conditions were decent but nothing to write home about. Tee boxes were uneven on certain holes.

Staff: seamed annoyed we were there.

Fairways: Many large brown, areas throughout the fairways and in front for the greens. The area around the elevated greens many unrepaired divots.

Greens: Multicolored turf, some of the holes poorly cut. Overall, the greens were the best part of the course.

Be aware that the Dye course is in the wind zone. Paring is a pain with gates and tickets, shuttle. Add 20 minutes for prep. Range spotty, practice green half dirt. Rough un watered and spotty with tufts of grass. Staff moderately friendly. Greens were running OK, but already have bare spots. Doesn't bode well for Summer golf. Used to be on regular rotation. Now no longer on the list. Went to have a drink after, Bartender was MIA 40 minutes after supposed opening time. Left.

Course had way to many dry spots. Not worth the Golf Now discount price.

The course isn't in pristine condition, but there is nothing to complain of. When I first started out, I commented to my playing partner that it was a nice course, but not as nice as the one we played the day prior. Once I got a few holes in my perspective changed. By the time we were finished, I was taking back my comment from the earlier. This is a very well designed golf course that is interesting and fun to play. For the intermediate it is very played. If you are a low handicapper, the course is no pushover. Not easy to score well on.
