About
The Cranes Roost Course is one of two championship courses at the Plantation at Leesburg. This semi-private golf course features dramatic elevation changes of up to 170 feet. The hilly terrain provides rolling fairways and undulating greens. Water hazards also come into play through much of the golf course, providing further challenge. The Cranes Roost Course accommodates golfers of all skill levels, but it can be especially challenging if taken too casually. In addition to the two golf courses, the Plantation at Leesburg offers a practice facility for golfers to work on their short game as well as a pro shop and staff of golf professionals.

course good, staff not so much
Played in a shotgun start - the staff offered no help at all re starting. Noticed a bunch of golfer (members, probably) suddenly driving off and simply followed them hoping to find our starting tee. Clubhouse is odd, access to restrooms is impossible to locate. Area for parking carts is no where near putting greens. Access to on-course restrooms requires a password that is printed on your receipt - misplace that and tough luck. OK, now good part - course was in very nice condition. Tough greens with difficult pin placements on our visit.

exceptional value
Course condition was exceptional. Greens were a little slow but rolled very true. Staff was very helpful and even recommended locations for dinner. We had a great experience and look forward to returning.
Great course - lousy customer service
It was raining and a little windy but we worked our way around on this really good course. The fairways and greens were excellent - overseeding I think - and if you stayed in the fairway, you could score. If you missed, well, let's just say good luck. There is a nice practice facility for warm-ups. Customer service was horrible. The staff at check-in were short, snarky, and unfriendly to a first-time visitor. There is no on-course service of any kind so bring your own. I'll be back but it won't be because anyone made me feel welcomed.

First time playing but I like it a lot
Last time I went to plantation I played otter creek and was not thrilled. Seemed a little tight on the fairways. Of course the weather was terrible so that could have had something to do with it (I'll probably try it again). However my experience at cranes roost was very good and it could become one of my favorite local courses.
Poor Staff
Course was good condition and enjoyable round. Inside Staff not the best. I had paid 9.95 on Golfnow and expected to pay remaining of what I owed and rest of foursome would pay there share. They charged all the same and said the 9,95 was a Golfnow Fee? I have not encountered this before. They acted like they did not like that we had booked on Golfnow. Because of the customer service and attitude of senior person on desk when checking in. I would not recommend this course. Improve the customer service skills and work with the customer and it would have been a great outing.
Good for the money
Crane's Roost is a good challenge, in good condition. Much more play friendly than Otter's Creek.
Good condition .... would play Crane's Roost again .... but not Otter Creek again.
Plantation Golf
Played Cranes Roost at Plantation Golf Club. The course was in excellent condition; tee's, fairways, and greens all have been over seeded and really green and lush. A very good golf course for the money.
First round of the New Year
Foggy morning, shotgun start...great to be playing here again. Got a good price for this course and jumped on it. Like to both courses, nicely maintained and plays well.
Bang for the buck
Greens and fairways are well maintained. For the money, this is the best course in the area.
Golf at its best
thanks for a great coarse..tees boxs have grass and are flat, fairways have winter conditions like summertime..greens are pretty true but were a little slow..overall a fun day to play golf.
Plantation cranes roost course
Nice course very nice conditions, greens good, interesting layout, all paths paved. It's a good challenge for the better senior player from the back tees -the blues. Lots of dog legs. Great practice facility. Carts clean and quiet - electric. Nice area. Gladly go back
Greens are in great shape
Went at a quick pace and the course was in good shape , much better then previous years. The pro shop was very friendly and let us on early.

Great course is supper fine condition. Very playable and you can use alot of different clubs.

These comments are what makes golf now look bad. People book on golf now website but never read any of the rules or conditions posted on the site... such as tee time can be moved up to 20 minutes due to course availability, or not paying attention to the icons to know what comes with the tee time. If you read the screen when you book your tee time before confirming the time it says booking fee paid to golf now and the price due at course. If you had paid attention to you confirmation it would have said all of that information. Going to these courses using golf now, I am starting to understand if the pro shops are getting a little upset dealing with guests from golf now that do not read what they are paying for. These people are making golf now look bad.
The 9.95 fee you paid online was a booking fee that golfnow assessed you. The fees are due at the course for each individual golfer like you were explained. It spells it out for you on your confirmation. I played this course yesterday and it by far has the best greens in town. The customer service in the pro shop was excellent. They even helped grab my bags from the car for me when I asked for assistance because of a leg injury. Seems you were a bit confused about how you booked it online. I highly recommend either of the golf courses at Plantation.
