The Plantation Golf Club - Cranes Roost Course

About
The Cranes Roost Course is one of two championship courses at the Plantation at Leesburg. This semi-private golf course features dramatic elevation changes of up to 170 feet. The hilly terrain provides rolling fairways and undulating greens. Water hazards also come into play through much of the golf course, providing further challenge. The Cranes Roost Course accommodates golfers of all skill levels, but it can be especially challenging if taken too casually. In addition to the two golf courses, the Plantation at Leesburg offers a practice facility for golfers to work on their short game as well as a pro shop and staff of golf professionals.

Golf at its best
thanks for a great coarse..tees boxs have grass and are flat, fairways have winter conditions like summertime..greens are pretty true but were a little slow..overall a fun day to play golf.
Plantation cranes roost course
Nice course very nice conditions, greens good, interesting layout, all paths paved. It's a good challenge for the better senior player from the back tees -the blues. Lots of dog legs. Great practice facility. Carts clean and quiet - electric. Nice area. Gladly go back
Greens are in great shape
Went at a quick pace and the course was in good shape , much better then previous years. The pro shop was very friendly and let us on early.
Cranes Roast at the Plantation
Great course is supper fine condition. Very playable and you can use alot of different clubs.
Really nice course
Real nice condition, beautiful course and nice layout.not real long but you can use all your clubs
Solid, well maintained course.
Real quiet course with a great variety of hole difficulties. Staff is friendly and course is very well maintained. One of my go-to courses.
A nice surprise
I went to try this course for the first time and was very pleased with my choice. I played alone and went during the twilight rate and basically had the course to myself. The course conditions were very good with nice slick greens and well playable fairways. I will definitely be playing here again.
Fun course
Well maintained, challenging course. Driveable par 4 18th hole. Long enough to be challenging but friendly.
Fun Sunday
The over all course condition was very good the fair ways were good and very playable. The greens were Aerated a few weeks ago and are coming back nice another week or 2 and they should be in great sharp they are still very payable and getting better very day.
Good Deal For The Money
Challenging course with lots of views. Pace of play was great. The course was in nice condition.
A nice treat was the availability of ice at several locations. A recommendation would be to have food and beverages available later in the afternoons.
Staff was very friendly and accomodating.
Love playing here
Wish the restaurant was open on Sundays other than that everything was great
Course drains well green good shape
We waited 1 1/2 hours for the rain to stop. Course was very playable. Compared to the reviews I read on the courses in Clermont this course was in great shape with tees, fairways and greens manicured and no bare spots. From the blue tees par three's are long. Nice layout with plenty of ways to use most of the clubs in the bag.
Rained out by the 3rd hole
I've played Crane's Roost many times but this was the first time I was rained out. From what I saw of it the course is in great shape.
This course features some really interesting holes. For example, the par 5 9th is a horseshoe fairway that curves around a swamp. If you're a big hitter and can carry 270 yards, you could turn sideways on the tee and try to drive the green. But for most of us aiming for the center of the fairway is the low risk shot. On this hole the 3rd shot is the tricky one.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable golf course and would highly recommend it.
Great course
Great course, have played several times and keep going back.
Good condition
Enjoyed the course. Fairways and greens in great condition. Friendly players assistance personnel.
Look forward to another round.
Good course for the money
The fairways and greens were in fair to good condition. Played with one of the residents that lived there, good company, pleasant to play with.
not great value
This course is to much money compared to other course,s we have played.
Like the course
Course is a good challenge due to undulating greens and course design. Excellent challenge for senior players. Pace of play was very slow the day we played. We were a threesome and the foursome in front of us did not invite us to play through even though we were often at the same tee box as they were teeing off.
SUPERB
I have been playing this course for a long time and it Is in the best condition I have ever played on. My congrats to Down to Earth crews who are managing and caring for the course. Kudos to you. Greens , fairways and tee boxes are in good conditions. Excellent value for the money. So come out and play this course.
Nice course,, nice people on course
This is a nice course where nice people do play at a fairly rapid pace. drinking water is available on many holes, even ice is available...a nice attention which does not cost anything...bigger places could learn this one.
This is a short course, even from the back tees...that being said, be careful with the Otter revenge holes, where you could loose momentum fairly quickly and spoil your round...Plantation has electric carts...something you enjoy vs the gas driven ones...
If you are looking for a short track, where greens are in good condition, at a reasonable cost...this is the spot.
