Golfer Reviews
LOW PRESSURE
This is a good course for high handi players or for better players that want to go out work on some shots and not get killed if your power fade does not fade.
Nice and Quiet
I've always loved this course. This is one of the courses I learned to play golf on, so it will always have a special place in my heart. Admittedly it is not very challenging for advanced golfers, but you can get in to some trouble. There are a handful of very tricky greens, and again there are a handful of holes where you will need your A game to conquer. But ultimately it is not very long, there are very few bunkers and water is only in play on 3 holes, and those are just a matter of clearing it with a modest tee shot. But what this course does offer is beautiful surroundings, very quiet and peaceful, and a really fun course to play a round on. Conditions are always solid here as well, as they do a great job of maintaining it with so much play. I only really have one complaint, and that is the price. I used to play this all the time, but they have priced me out of their course in the last few years. Weekday rates are pretty good, but the weekend rates are too high for me. Having said that, I can't blame them for charging it since they seem to be getting it. Personally, I'll just wait to play it when Golf Now offers one of their good deals.
great place!
I golf most frequently at Spring Valley. For a low teens handicapper, it's perfect-enough challenge to make it fun, not so hard it is frustrating. A low handicapper may find it too easy.
The conditions are great, and the scenery is classic North California and just beautiful, set in the east bay hills.
