Editor's Note: Course closed and reopen as The Yards.
The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

Worth the Golf Now price, but keep handle on expectations
The course is a nice design! The fairways are ok, the greens are horrible, the rough is a lot of weeds- tall weeds, and the bunkers are mud- no sand. It is a nice course design, and with Golf Now you can play for 35$ so it is worth the money. I understand that it is being bought (again), so If the new owners put some money into it, it could be a real nice course. When I went (730 am tee time), the bar wasn't open and there was no beverage cart until after 10am, I believe to cut costs.
I recommend the course for high handicappers that are trying to get better, but low handicappers may get upset by the conditions.
will not play here again
Worst condition of a golf course charging $35+ that I"ve ever played. I lost over 5 balls in the "ruff" because they hadn't mowed in weeks, I'd guess at least a month. The greens were like putting over the Sahara, there was no keeping a straight line. It was a beautife 90+ degree Sunday morning however no cart girl or water coolers/fountains, so you can imagine how the back 9 felt. Windor is the same price, maybe $5 more, and 100x in better shape!
Don't waste your time
You would think that this course would be pretty good given its proximity to PGA headquarters and the fact that it is located in a development that is able to generated decent HOA fees to maintain this corurse. However, lower your expectations because this has to be one the poorest golf courses in the area.
Nice course but needs some work
The fairways were in good shape. Greens could use a bit of work. The worst part of the course was the rough. We lost a lot of balls in the rough that were definitely in play, but the grass was so long that we just could not find them. As far as service goes, we only one drinking fountain on the entire course. it was mid-90s and there was no cart service either. That made for a long day. Overall, the course is nice, but does needs some work.
Very poor green conditions limit enjoyment of good design
I enjoyed the visual design elements of the course but was disappointed with the condition of the greens , fairways and bunkers .... Almost all greens had dead patches and were very very rough .... Fairways were average and generally at a muni level .... All bunkers were not raked , hard packed and/or flooded from recent rains. I'd be able to recommend this course if the greens were playable .....
Horrible course
This course is one of the worst courses I have played in Jacksonville. The greens are just horrible, this place is no fun.
Dry Dry Dry
I know it hasn't rained at beaches for several weeks but this course is dry beyond belief.I play Windy Harbor several times a week and it is immaculate.Maybe they could ask the base for some drought tips.Thank goodness for our sweet cart girl that kept our cups filled with ice all day.
Course should be plowed under
They should plow this course under and plant cabbage! How pathetic! Greens looked like bad rough with sporadic grass with ruts of dirt. Fairways burned out with consistently poor lies. They should change name from Ponte Vedra Golf and Countr Club- totally misleading and misrepresenting fine community. One of the top 5 poorly maintained courses I`vegas Benedictine of playing.
Good time
I enjoyed playing this course. Easy to navigate to the next hole, staff was very kind, and the scenery was lovely. The only negative I have was the green condition on a couple holes. There were some rough patches which made putting difficult. Other than that it was a good time! Watch out for the geese droppings though...
This course was in very poor condition
I never complain. However, this course was in pathetic condition. There were burnt-out fairways, patchy greens on almost every hole and rockhard bunkers that were unplayable. What a shame. This course has so much potential and they obviously do not invest in it. The tee boxes barely had grass in them. For a gated community and beautiful neighborhood this course certainly is way behind the quality of its environment. I asked the employee in the ProShop if the course was in this poor condition last year. He was embarrassed, put his head down and put his hands over his eyes as he answered. This will be the first and last time I play here.
Nice track but the greens are not in good shape...
Nice course but greens were in bad shape but it was a sunny day and i played with the womens clu chance ao it was fun
Just too bad!
Rumors abound about this course re: when or if the owners will sell and to whom. In the interim they have let this course go which is unfortunate because given attention and lots of money for improvements it could be a great track to play but not now in its current state.
Poorly managed
Where to begin? Greens rolled like garbage. Staff was rude. Tee boxes looked my sand box when I was 6. I don't think the owners will be able to stay afloat too much longer.
Sad Shape
It's not often that I write reviews about anything unless the product/service was very-very good or very-very bad. In this case, it's the latter. This golf course is sitting on possibly the most beautiful and most expensive piece of property in Jacksonville. From there everything else is downhill. Fairways and greens are horrible. Appears no money spent for anything...even water in months. This could be the best golf course in Jacksonville but unfortunately...it's the worst.
Don't let $25 green fees fool you; it's not even worth that. Message to the owners: I would play your course with all the bad fairways, etc........if you would just try and keep the greens decent, that's all....just put to fertilize and water on the greens and the grass will grow. This course deserves better. Either help fix it or sell it to someone who will.
Nice fairways, variety of shots.
The course was challenging but fun. Water, bunkers, and tight fairways.
Bad shape
I would not recommend this course under current management. The green are in terrible shape, hard sand in the bunkers and fairways are average. Could be a five star course with new ownership
Fair value for the money
We paid a rate of $27 per 18 holes which was ok but no bargain. The greens were in very bad shape. Most greens were very tall and slow and had sand on bald spots.
Golf Game
It had too many holes. In one of the holes the potting green did not even look like one I guess they changed it not long ago and it was very difficult to play on it.
