Fast Pace of Play, Lots of Up and Down, Good Price!!

My buddy and I teed off at about 240p on a Saturday, and we're done by 6p. Course was in great shape. Staff was friendly, there was a beverage cart on the course. If you haven't played the course before, or in awhile, it's a pretty tough course, but it's also a lot of fun. I'd reccomend this course to anyone. It's a fun course, A LOT, of hills and elevated tee shots.

What a great experience.

If you are looking for a great golfing experience in L.A you would be hard pushed to find one better for the money. Great challenging course in perfect condition with friendly helpful staff. My advice, download the Anahein Hills golf course app before playing as it is a great app with many features to help you round the course. We were lucky and hooked up with a course Marshall and his help was invaluable. Watch the greens their lightening fast. Will definitely be returning to this course on my next visit to L.A

OK course, not really worth the cost

Overall, I wasn't too impressed, for the $70 price tag. There are several other courses in the area with a better value. I am not opposed to paying more or driving farther for a quality course, so the value of this course was off, for me.

There wasn't a bag drop that I could find, and no one to greet you with a cart, so we had haul our cart bags from the far side of the parking lot to the opposite side of the facility. Not a big deal, I guess.

Pro shop was typical, and the site had a large restaurant and bar area. It was clearly an older course, that could use some renovation, IMO.

Range balls were not included with our $70. Range was hitting off mats albeit nicer mats. Balls dispensed from machine were caked with mud, and the balls themselves were a mix of decent range balls with some that should have been thrown out a long time ago (whole pieces of balls missing). The practice putting green and short game area were great.

Starter was a nice guy that gave us some tips, and there is a course app that is really nice with flyovers and GPS distances. Overall the course is not too challenging. There are a few blind shots, a couple 90 degree dog legs, and holes going up hill. Wide fairways, and not too much OB. If you hit a slice/hook, you can probably get to your ball on an adjacent fairway. Great views on several of the holes - maybe that's what you are paying for - but major power lines overhead everywhere sizzling and snapping took away from the views. Not too many sand traps, all had sand, but not much depth, so you'll need to play is more of a chip to get out. Fairway grass was a bit long, but green everywhere, no brown patches. Greens were in great shape, fast and true, as far as I could tell.

Course did get backed up, but we still finished in about 4 1/2 hours.

Because of the cost, I will play other, better-value courses first, unless I find a deal for this course.

Good value for a solid course

Anaheim Hills is an above average course that provides a good value. Greens are tough, course is well maintained, and the layout has some nice challenges. This is my local course and I have no complaints about playing here frequently.

As you can imagine, as a moderately priced public course, it has some issues with pace of play.

Slow pace ruined round

Slow players ahead wouldn't let faster'smaller groups through. Marshall needed to do a better job minitoring course. Course conditions marginal in some places with bald spots in the fairways. Some funky holes with several blind shots required.

Good Challenge for you

This is a good course with some unique challenging holes. Greens were aerated earlier this month and were almost grown back in, some sand remains.

We finished just under 4 hours, and were allowed 2 groups to go out ahead of us because we weren't all there on time. Starter was generous with his time.

Things worked out and we play here as part of a group of courses we frequent.

Enjoy !!

course knowledge is a must

First time playing this course and definitely want to come back and get some revenge on it. Downloaded the app before playing and it helped a bit but course knowledge is a must have. While some holes are 'what u see is what u get', there are several hard doglegs and several blind shots. While the course only plays 6000 yds, the doglegs and mature tree lined fairways create a challenge. Greens were still recovering from a recent aeration which was disappointing. I did see some previous comments about this but Golfnow usually posts an "alert".

Will come back and hopefully get paired up with a member

Greens were covered with sand. No one told us.

I am very disappointed in Golf Now, for not telling me, when I booked this tee time, that the greens had just been airrated, Putting on sand is not my idea of an enjoyable round of golf, that I had to drive a distance to play. I paid $70.00 for this round. Then in the morning, the round was $58.00, on Golf Now. The course would not do anything for us, because of the condition of the greens. I will not be back and will not use Golf Now.

Elevated Tee Boxes!

Fun and challenging course with elevated tee boxes to watch your golf ball fly! Staff was courteous and the starter had a sense of humor. Had a late morning tee time and we breezed through the first 14 holes. Course was in great shape. I'll be back. Thanks Anaheim Hills staff.

First time

This was the first time here. I've only played golf for a year and a half. I think in another year and a half, I would love this course. It was a tough day with all the dog legs and narrow fairs. But everything was in great condition.

Its been 8 years since I last played Anaheim hills and always enjoyed playing with my co-workers. Now that

my son is playing and his first time there he really enjoyed the layout along with the up keep. He commented course was in good shape considering the unstable weather we've been having and I agree!

Unhappy Experience

I was beyond disappointed and frustrated with Anaheim Hills Golf Course for a variety of reasons: first of all, we had a 10:30am tee time, which means pace of play should be normal and reasonable. Our round was 5 HOURS and 45 MINUTES, which is unacceptable for a day without weather concerns and a morning tee time. Having to wait on almost every tee box wasn't just the only drag of the day though. Southern California has had quite a bit of rain lately, which necessitates cart path only rules. Yet apparently these rules, although made clear by the starter, were not being followed as most of the fairways were torn up with muddy cart tire marks making it virtually impossible to get a decent lie. On top of that, the restrooms on the back nine were completely unsanitary. The ladies bathroom had two toilets, neither of which were working properly: one was clogged and the other was flooding the stall and wasn't flushing. Just absolutely disgusting for what I would expect of this course in this area. I have never had an issue not being able to have a clean bathroom at a golf course. I have been a long-time customer of GolfNow. The last time I booked a Hot Deal, my tee time was overbooked and cancelled right before I was going to leave for the course, unable to find a replacement tee time even. Today, I booked yet another Hot Deal hoping for a better experience at one of the better North Orange County golf courses. I cannot believe that I wasted my Deal Caddy Voucher on this horrible experience today.
