Golfer Reviews
Great greens...gimmicky setup
Staff was super friendly and the greens were in fantastic condition (esp for the price point). Unfortunately my cousin and I both found the course to be super gimmicky. Too many blind or deceptive tee shots, over the top doglegs, and the dramatic downhill par 3's (3 of the 4) got old fast. Maybe things change for those who play it more often, but we won't be coming back.
Warm Staff on a Cold Day
All of the staff was great! I think this was the first time I recall warm water in the towel bucket at a place. On a cold day it surely was noticed.
Fun Course, SLOW Play - 6 hours
Fun course but slow play due to men's club tourney in the morning per marshall. Marshall's really need to push the slow people. Teed off at 1140 Saturday and finished after the sun was down. Providing this review in the hopes that course management keeps things moving in the future. We did see a nice marshall but he admitted he could not get anyone to move faster. Suggestion...management should have golfers sign at checking that they will be asked to pick up and move on if slow play is occurring. I will be back Friday for another go.
Play here if you like blind shots
his course is not fun. Majority of the holes you you can't see the green, nor an open fairway. Sharp Dog legs everywhere and tiny landing spots for tee shots. Extreme elevation changes makes some shots tricky.
Short, but tough green with funky mountain brakes. I wouldn't play here even for free. perfect definition of a "mickey mouse course"
Fast greens!!
I've played 5-6 rounds here over the last 2 years or so, and the course is in the best shape I've seen it. The greens were in great shape and rolled true, but they were FAST!!! With the speed of the greens I thought it would be a long round but the pace of play was where it should be. It took 4 hours on the dot for our foursome to play. We are all in the 8-12 handicap range. I still thought it was a little pricey at $61 for a weekday rate, but for the course condition and pace it was worth it.
Tough for first time
This is a nice course with a challenging layout but if you are playing it for the first tine it is tough, probably half of the tee shots are blind. Don’t even think about walking it.
Enjoyable to play
I look forward to going back and playing this course again, it has its challenge Ann's is fun to play.
Good Except for Very Slow Play
The course was in nice shape, especially the greens.
However, from the very start play was very slow with 2 groups waiting through the first 6 or 7 holes.
Tee time was 12:40, teed off about 12:50 and only got in 14 holes before dark.
Have played here before and play was never this slow.
Enjoyable round
My foursome arrived at the course 30 minutes prior to our tee time. The starter was kind enough to let us out early. The course was maintained pretty well and the greens were in really good shape. We will be looking forward to returning back to this course soon.
Excellent for tournaments
Challenging and serene, Anaheim Hills proves that quality golf can be affordable. Excellent turf conditions and setting in the hills. This is an excellent golf course, friendly staff and a beautiful club house. Greens here can be really tough!
OK Course
After reading the description of the course I was looking forward to playing here. Unfortunately I was a little let down as the course did not live up to the description. I would rate the course as average+. Pace of play was slow for mid week with a 5 hour round. Waited on almost every hole making for a long day. Our tee off was delayed by 30 minutes as they were backed up when we arrived. Staff were friendly.
Amazingly Fun course
This course has its own unique fun and challenge. I very much loved its layout, adventurous course design definitely demand a creative shot plan. Each cart has a new latest navigation system (recently installed). The course has lots of trees and it made me feel like i am far away from home vacationing. Overall scenery resembles European feels. All in all, it is totally worth visiting and i will be back.
Very sloooooow play! Serious golfers should AVOID!
Arrived at 8:40am, 40 mins before my tee time, to find out that they were already 20 mins behind! The guy at the pro shop didn't inform me of this when we checked in, we didn't find out until we approached the starter to see when we would be teeing off. Since the first tee was behind, you would think they would actively manage the course - nope! It was a 6 hr round! I didn't plan to spend my ENTIRE day there! Only saw the Marshall twice, the first time I gave him an ear full, he then avoided us until I saw him on the 18th hole, he was coming out of the bushes, nowhere near any golfers, I think he was hiding in there! Not recommended for anyone that cares about pace of play, this place will drive you nuts!
