South at Los Serranos Golf & Country Club

About
The South Course is the more well known of the two championship golf courses at Los Serranos Country Club. The course has a reputation for being one of southern California's longest thanks to the Jack's Black tees, which stretch to more than 7,600 yards. It is a lengthy test, but it is not as intimidating as it seems. The golf course is forgiving with par 5s that give you realistic opportunities to boost your score, though the course should not be taken lightly. Course management is the key to successfully maneuvering the elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course finishes with its signature hole, which is also its longest at 673 yards. A lake frames the hole and accuracy with each shot is essential. It is a playable course, but beginners who aren't yet up for the challenge can try their hand at Los Serranos Country Club's shorter, more player-friendly North Course.

Nice and long course 6 par 5
Drove 50 miles down from North Hollywood, arrived an hour early, to avoid traffic, tee time is noon almost 99 degrees , pro shop people no smile, wait for one hour to call, pairing with a single, course is almost excellent condition,, Marshall only show up is tell us let another twosome play through, but we are not slow, finished by 3 hours, course needs more drinking water stand, almost 100 degree out there, did not see any drinking water through the course, only driving range place has one, very nice course, I recommend this course, but bring a Lots Lots of water to play.

^The course is long! First, there are six par 5's (for par 74). In addition, there are a number of long par 4's. Even from the white tees my 3 wood got a real workout. And the par 3's are not short either. Finally, there are the afternoon winds, which are almost always present at courses in the Inland Empire of Southern California, especially in the warmer weather. The greens are not flat and run surprisingly fast, considering the prevalence of poa annua in the grass. All things considered, this is one of my favorite courses open to the public in So Cal.
Nice Course but Slow Pace of Play
The long south course at Los Serranos was well maintained and the views were impressive as ever but the slow pace of play was at times unbearable. 15 minute waits a tee box shouldn't really happen and it did on a few occasions this day. Group in front was 2 foursomes that joined up and played best ball, not ideal.
Other than that, the staff was friendly and the greens were rolling pure. Would play again, though hopefully next time a Marshall would come do his job as we didn't see one all day.
Great first impression!
Mt first time playing the South course at Los Serannos and I was very impressed with all aspects of the course. They staff was friendly and made the day much more pleasant to enjoy my round. I'd recommend this course to anyone if you have not already been there.
Golf Fanatics
Of course is a great layout and very long. The fairways are very narrow and in some cases blind. Fair but challenging and I definitely can bring a better game next time.
Don't do it
The greens don't roll, they bounce.
There's 8 different grass types here
The water on the course tasted like a sewer
I played here for free and will never come back even if the green fees were free again
It's golf courses like this that are ruining the game.
I'm curious to know how you guys are still in business.
A nice big shopping mall would be a good replacement.
Great course, HORRIBLE pace of play.
Great course, fun layout, and challenging. Took just over five hours on Sunday afternoon which in my opinion is just too long and takes away the joy in a round.
