South at Los Serranos Golf & Country Club

About
The South Course is the more well known of the two championship golf courses at Los Serranos Country Club. The course has a reputation for being one of southern California's longest thanks to the Jack's Black tees, which stretch to more than 7,600 yards. It is a lengthy test, but it is not as intimidating as it seems. The golf course is forgiving with par 5s that give you realistic opportunities to boost your score, though the course should not be taken lightly. Course management is the key to successfully maneuvering the elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course finishes with its signature hole, which is also its longest at 673 yards. A lake frames the hole and accuracy with each shot is essential. It is a playable course, but beginners who aren't yet up for the challenge can try their hand at Los Serranos Country Club's shorter, more player-friendly North Course.

so cal golfer
So we were a 2-some following a 5-some. They allow 5's to play. Also, the course used to have GPS in the carts. There was no GPS in the cart. I have a phone link and GPS was not available at all. Course markings were the 3 cement plates in the center of the fairway. They just air-rated the greens and I was not told they did so..... would not have played here. Like the design and distance of the course tee to green. A long course from the blues. Makes it a bit more challenging.
Thank You golf now and course staff
I had good time golf wet and windy day.
staff were so nice and course condition was great.
Thank you everyone
Los Serranos South Course Chino Hills, CA
Great Condition of Course, and I really enjoyed it. Fun!
Pace of play
6 hour rounds are never fun. To make things worse the Marshall was doing anything to speed it up. We had a group ahead of us that was a hole behind on every tee box and a group of 6 behind us.
Golfers Beware - Not Worth Visiting!!!
Our tee time was booked for a foursome but we only had three players when we checked in for our round of golf in their pro shop. Guess what...They had the NERVE to charge my credit card a few days later, through the GolfNow website, for the fourth player when I was told by the counter person in their pro shop they wouldn't. The course itself is nice but NOT WORTH $60.00 for the North course. In addition, charging $70.00 to play the South course, which we played a week later, surely is not worth that price either. The pace of play on both courses are very slow. Also, we weren’t allowed to tee off until 45 to 60 minutes beyond our original starting tee time. This always seems to be the norm at this course. If you're want to pay around $60.00 to $70.00 dollars for a round of golf...In my opinion, your money would be way better spent playing Goose Creek, Sierra Lakes, Oak Quarry, Eagle Glen or any of the many other better golf courses in the area.
Customer service not their forte
Even though I live only a few minutes from Los Serranos, I don't golf here much. Just have had too many below average experiences with pro shop staff. Just seems like they're not too concerned about the customer experience and preoccupied with other things. The course itself is in decent shape and is a decent value. The south course does play long, but does help that fairways tend to be wide. Overall, is OK value.
Over booked
I feel that the course was over booked for Black Friday every hole we had to wait from 10 minutes to 25 minutes. Never was able to finish 18 with a tee time of 1130 am it got dark due to the over booking there were numerous groups that were upset, Talking with a guy that was added to our group I found out that he booked with golf now and paid 40 dollars but we paid 70 each .. I don't feel that was right, the. Other thing was there was no cart girl going around for any food or drinks. When I complained to the staff in the pro shop they only said sorry. ....
Beautiful Course & Well Maintained!
This was an enjoyable day on the course. Very well maintained. Challenging but fun!
Classic Old Style Course
They are working hard to keep it in good shape. It had fewer bare spots and better fairways than my usual tracks in Long Beach. The only weakness was the hard & rocky condition of the bunkers.
Long fairways
Great course. Good variety, e.g., elevation, long fairways, bunkers, water. Pace was very good. Fairways and greens in excellent shape.
Took forever
Nice course, challenging with surprisingly tough greens, but took forever! Just under 6 hours for Saturday golf. Ended up having to wait for two groups in front of us on several tee boxes to tee off before we could. Makes for a very long afternoon. Maybe try booking times every 10 min? Staff was nice, but they also could use a cart girl out on a 95 degree day with minimal water fountains as well.
Well maintained course
Great deal with golfnow. Fun course, real nice greens. No crowds in the heat of the day so well worth the drive from my house.
Tough Track
This is a very difficult course that will challenge all parts of your game..... even from the whites. it plays long, and if you catch it on a windy day, wow, is it tough (but fair).. they do let 5 some's out so the only issue is that pace of play can be a issue if your unlucky, but other than that... play here!
Jack's Blacks
Played Los Serranos South Course from Jack's Blacks as a single. I was originally supposed to be paired with 2 other players, but the starter let me play as a single ahead of a threesome scheduled before me.
Greens were somewhat slow probably a 9.5 on the stimp, but held their lines pretty well. Bunkers had a good amount of sand and were soft for the most part. A couple of the tee boxes were sloped, but were playable.
I love this course because it's a fair challenge from the Black tees. It also has awesome views from several tees.
It's in great shape.
Course is in awesome shape. The greens are awesome quick but true. Good time to play here.
Great course
18 hole with new carts and the long course for 30 bucks? How can you not like this course?? Greens and fairways are in greeeat shape. Highly recommend this place!
