About
Redhawk Golf Club is one of California's 10 best public courses. Located on the outskirts of San Diego in Temecula, the course is home to one of the southern California's only island greens. The layout is challenging no matter what your skill level but it is still immensely enjoyable. The golf course features dramatic elevation changes, narrows fairways that demand accuracy, and multi-tiered greens that are well conditioned. There is ample water on the course but its use feels natural rather than arbitrary. The numerous strategically placed bunkers are equally as challenging, if not more so than the water hazards. Every club in the bag will see some use at Redhawk Golf Club. From the elevated tees, golfers can enjoy views of the surrounding vineyards for some scenic respite from this formidable test.

Improved
Haven’t played this course in 2+ years. It was in miserable shape. I decided to give it another chance and was please at how it’s improved. Look forward to playing again.
Rough
The pace of play was good but could have been better if the rough was shorter. Tall grass made it hard to find the balls.

A Check of My Bucket List
About 30 years ago I saw this course when it was being built and then newly opened. I could not afford the course or was afraid of it at that time. I always wanted to play the course and try the Island green. While visiting California recently, I finally had my opportunity. The course is in excellent condition and it played very well for me as an average golfer. The condition at this course was better than any other course I played on my golf vacation. Pro Shop, Starter and Marshal were friendly, efficient and engaging. Thanks for a great round.

Great course. Great condition. Had to jump in front of a slow play foursome. But after that finished under 4 hours.
What's wrong with people?
Not your fault, I understand that. I would give my overall play at Redhawk close to a 10, BUT, and this is true almost everywhere I play nowadays, no one bothers to repair their ball marks anymore, nor their fairway divots! Here's a idea, why not give out complimentary forks prior to teeing off with the strong prompting to use them, and come back with near empty sand bottles. Just sayin'.
