Redhawk Golf Club

About
Redhawk Golf Club is one of California's 10 best public courses. Located on the outskirts of San Diego in Temecula, the course is home to one of the southern California's only island greens. The layout is challenging no matter what your skill level but it is still immensely enjoyable. The golf course features dramatic elevation changes, narrows fairways that demand accuracy, and multi-tiered greens that are well conditioned. There is ample water on the course but its use feels natural rather than arbitrary. The numerous strategically placed bunkers are equally as challenging, if not more so than the water hazards. Every club in the bag will see some use at Redhawk Golf Club. From the elevated tees, golfers can enjoy views of the surrounding vineyards for some scenic respite from this formidable test.

Excellent condition
Been a while since we played this course and was pleasantly surprised by the conditions. Great work staff !
Great day of golf
I've wantes to play Red Hawk for decades and finally got the chance. What a great course. Everything was in excellent condition, and the weather cooperated. It was the middle of July and the temp never got above 84*. We finished in less than 4 hrs. Can't wait to play there again.
Course Quickly Backed Up Due to Multiple Small Groups
I never mind playing solo (and often prefer it when I'm experimenting with different shots) but I'm not sure the course should allow back to back 2-somes and singles when it is inevitable the smaller groupings will catch up to the groups in front of them, including the larger groups (of 4), causing a back up. This is what occurred when I played on this particular Saturday. It didn't seem as though the 2-somes wanted to partner up with one another (and the 2-some in front of me finally invited me to play through since I guess they couldn't enjoy themselves with me constantly behind them, even though I often played multiple balls per hole to try to give them some space). Of course I quickly caught up with the next 2-some, who did not seem interested in forming a larger group. At the 16th hole, which had a 3 group back up, I finally gave up and drove ahead, only to see each hole filled to capacity. I was permitted to play the 1st 3 holes again, which I enjoyed. However, even though I don't mind playing by myself, I think I would prefer the course make the smaller groups join up (as I have encountered at some other courses) so that all of the groups can play at a reasonable pace and perhaps avoiding the tremendous back up that occurred when I played on Saturday.
Golf with new Friend
Brought a friend who is a very good golfer and it was his first time playing Red Hawk. He usually walks but he enjoyed the challenge and will be back.
Great course good conditions
Redhawk was a great challenge and in wonderful shape. My only request would be to open the bar earlier or have a beverage cart out before 11 am. Wonderful experience overall.
Red hawk golf
The course was great condition. Staff was very helpful.and friendly. This was first time golfing at this course. Definitely returning to play this course again.
A Good Day at Redhawk
I enjoyed another round at Redhawk. Course condition was in great condition.
Very fun
Redhawk was a very pleasant surprise. Fairways were well groomed and greens manicured perfectly. Great scenery and challenging course with a bit of target golf included. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Totally enjoyed our time.
A real test for mid to high handicaps
Pay attention to fairway slope. The course is in great condition. The greens are fast. Pay attention to fairway slope. Not a great course for those with bad knees or ankles. Great practice/warm up area. Pace of play is monitored here. Pay attention to fairway slope.
What a comeback!!
Management has totally committed itself to bringing the course back to glory !!
It is challenging and fair. What a treat
Such an enjoyable course
Layout is splendid, greens highly maintained, fairways exceptional... enjoy every time !!
