Redhawk Golf Club
About
Redhawk Golf Club is one of California's 10 best public courses. Located on the outskirts of San Diego in Temecula, the course is home to one of the southern California's only island greens. The layout is challenging no matter what your skill level but it is still immensely enjoyable. The golf course features dramatic elevation changes, narrows fairways that demand accuracy, and multi-tiered greens that are well conditioned. There is ample water on the course but its use feels natural rather than arbitrary. The numerous strategically placed bunkers are equally as challenging, if not more so than the water hazards. Every club in the bag will see some use at Redhawk Golf Club. From the elevated tees, golfers can enjoy views of the surrounding vineyards for some scenic respite from this formidable test.

Golfer Reviews
Communication
It would have been nice if they would have told us the greens were punched.
Recently went to redhawk. Tee time price was far but it didn’t not say a thing about the greens being punched just a few days prior. Very disappointed
gmuch improvedood course
Course in excellent condition, much better than 3-5 years ago. Congrats to the new management and staff
Terrible course management
Beautiful golf course that totally ignores player satisfaction. On the first tee we were preceded by 2 guys in a cart sharing one set of clubs. The starter explained that one of the guys had his clubs stolen and so the pro shop made an exception for him. I asked why they simply didn’t lend him a rental set and the starter acknowledged that that would have been a good idea.
We followed the foursome for 5 hours and 20 minutes. About the 15th hole the foursome became a sixsome. We teed off at 12:40 and finished at 6:00 p.m. , nearly dark.
At no time did we see a Marshall or anyone we could ask to remedy the situation.
It is a pity that such a lovely course could be so mismanaged.
Staff always super friendly. It was Friday do pace of play was not optimum. Love the course and highly recommend you play it!
Challenging course
Nice course, very friendly staff. It’s tough! Narrow fairways and elevation changes on every hole it seemed like. Good bunker design makes you need to play strategically. Fairways were a bit rough in some spots but overall nice course!
Disappointing
Starter bumped us 10 minutes to put a 3 some that was 30 minutes late for their tee time out in front of us. 3 some was a hole behind by the third hole. Great watching them hack their way around the golf course not filling their divots or raking bunkers. No Marshall in sight on a Sunday to move groups along. Apparently 3 some are regulars so I’ll spend my money elsewhere. Fairways more mud than grass.
Course is in great shape but it's pricey
+Course is in great shape, greens are pristine
+Pace was pretty good until the last few holes
+Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable
-Green fees are high for the style of course
-No drink cart
-Mats on range
Additionally, the greens are quick, the hazards are fairly mild (but the fairways are narrower than a lot of local courses), despite running through a housing development it didn't feel like it most of the time, and most holes don't feel like you're going to break a window if you shank it
Fairways are rough
Great design and solid greens with an extremely helpful staff. Sadly the fairways are the worst i’ve ever seen in North County San Diego. At least for a course of this caliber. Mud and dead patches everywhere. Hard pressed to even find grass to hit off of unless you were in the rough which made for nothing but either compact mud shots or tight lies off of hardpan if you hit the fairway. The lake looked like a swamp and was not properly maintained. It’s really too bad because it has massive potential. Still gave it 3 stars but would be 5 if not for the above.
Superbowl Sunday
Nobody was on the course, finished the round in 3 hrs. Doesn't get better than that.
Pace of play and condition of fairways for the price was disappointing
Would not recommend unless you get a great deal on the price.
Shuttle service very disappointed
You cannot take the carts to the parking lot. They have a shuttle service that will pick you up and bring you and your clubs up to the pro shop to get your cart… that worked out fine when we got there and we’re picked up, but after we finished our round the shuttle driver went by us twice, and then went up and parked, and never came back down to help us with our clubs down to the parking lot.. I walked up to the shuttle barn to find him and ask him why he came back and he said the charge on the shuttle was low and that he can come down and release our cart to go to the parking lot.. going by us twice empty not sure why he couldn’t have stopped to tell us that and release our carts instead we waited for over 20 minutes until I finally walked up to where the shuttle bus was parked..
His name was Cole. He did apologize. He said he didn’t see us when he went down and back up which I don’t believe because we were standing right there.. we are in our 70s and hauling clubs back down to the parking lot was not an option For us with bad backs..
So it made for a disappointing end of a round..
Not sure we’ll come back to this course..
Great GolfPass deal!
For some reason, they were offering a $14.95 deal for this golf course! Couldn’t believe it but I snapped it up! Was able to play by myself on a beautiful 75° day. Never really waited. The golf course is in excellent condition with very tight fairways. Lots of extra effort, put onto flowers and shrubs around the tea boxes, etc. I’m 76 years old so I play the forward tees and they’re always in pristine condition versus the white tees which get all the use. Had a great time! I’ll be looking for that $14.95 deal again! Ha!
