Slow play / No carts = Over Booked
3 hour front 9. 20 minutes behind scheduled tee time because there's no carts because it's super overbooked every weekend. Plan accordingly.
Decent Course, Long Waits
We made a spontaneous decision to play while visiting San Diego. The price was great and had times available in early afternoon. The major issue for me was they had too few carts, which caused a long delay to start. Everyone had to wait for people to finish their round for a cart to be available. My wait lasted about 40 minutes past scheduled time. Several groups went off as twosomes due to the wait, which slowed play. We only got 15 in due to darkness. Two different locals told us they had never seen them run out of carts. They must have packed the course full.
The front 9 was okay, with a creek coming into play on almost all holes. There were several blind tee shots, necessitating care to be sure the group in front was clear. The back 9 was a different course altogether. It had a number of sloping fairways and great views of Lake Murray.
We had 3 and 4 groups on each hole on the front, but the back was very open due to several leaving after long waits on the front. Still a nice day in great weather, that could have been better if not so slow.
Tee times backed up by 45 minutes due to lack of golf carts. Was only able to play 4 holes in 2 hours due to it being so backed up. If I have to go back, it will be early morning to avoid the terrible mid to late day organizational issues
Slow players/flooded
The drainage is horrible on the front 9. With all the rain we've had, the front 9 was a swamp. The back 9 was nice and dry. Every time I play this course, the pace of play is rediculous! Always waiting and waiting... The ambassadors need to stay on top of the pace of play and say something to the slower players.
Pace of play
Mission trails is a nice course when they don't overbook. I've been 5-6 times and it always it overcrowded. At one point there were 6 full carts of golfers waiting to tee off on hole 6. The works don't see to care about that fact.
If you are lucky enough to book on a light traffic day you will enjoy this course. Don't go on a weekend or after work.
Meh
Poor pace of play and tee times were backed up 20-25 mins. 9 holes took 3 1/2 hours
Needs to stop over booking
On a busy Saturday, they need to stop making tee times 7 minutes apart as this is also a course played by beginners as well. One Marshall who whizzed by on a front nine that took us 3 hours. It's over used and crowded. The back is better in design and use as a lot of players quit at the turn because of the wait. If you stick it out then it can be worth it. Still this course should not take 5 plus hours.
Mission Trails slow
The course was in beautiful shape and surrounding area was beautiful as well with the Lake in the back drop on the back 9. The Pro shop and starter were scheduling people out so seemed to be a lot of double bookings. With the recent rains there were a lot of muddy areas.
Rained out
Course wasn't accepting carts on the course....walking only due to the storm. Gold shop personnel was nice enough to call me 2 hours prior, and let me know.
That's great service.
Slow pace of play
The course is great but the golfers at the course is not. Took 2.5 hours for the front 9. Gifts uhh front of new didn't offer for me to play though even though each hike I was on them the whole time.
Waste of time
This course had 3 tournaments that went off in the morning causing my tee time to be delayed by 45 minutes. Since we got pushed back by so much we didn't get to finish the round only got 15 holes in. The starter was very rude like it was our fault that they were busy . I would not recommend giving this course your business.
Horrible game play and customer service
My tee time was an hour behind and their lunch specia is not even a special its suppose to be 6.00 and that does not even include a drink. It ended up costing me 13.00 for a sandwich drink and chips ridiculous.
Great value for the price.
Had a great round playing in 3 hrs and 45 minutes. The greens had been sanded prior day and may have been posted on line. Greens and most fairways are in pretty good shape and there seems to be quite an effort by all to make your round an enjoyable experience.

great simple course
great course has a little bit of everything and they just put down new sod! not too rough has a little of everything dog leg lefts rights tricky short par 5s, a reachable par 4, a few elevation changes, what more do you want in a course.
A fun course
The course was fun and a bit of a challenge for this Midwesterner. Hitting from elevated tees and to some highly elevated greens put me to the test. Had a lot of fun.
Get what you pay for
The course is conveniently located and inexpensive, but the pace of play is so slow. Was in pretty good shape. As they say, you get what you pay for.
