Mountain View at Desert Willow Golf Resort

Rode the Purple tees (6507/71.2/128) in 2H, 45M twilight. The weather was sunny, calm and around 110.

Firecliff is usually is better playing condition than Mountain View, but not today.

The Bermuda tees were lush and nice to play from. Level with few divots.

The Bermuda fairways were lush.

The Bermuda rough was mowed low, is lush and generally good to play from. Good thing it's low, because it is thick Bermuda.

The sand traps were decently maintained but were too thin for my taste.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and were smooth and firm. Nice!

Excellent customer service on every visit here. Plenty of water/ice stations on the course. Nice GPS on carts. No drink cart person out this afternoon. Nice all grass driving range with a good chipping area & practice green. Fun layout to play, definitely recommended.

Great course! Beautiful to the eyes. Fairways and greens in excellent condition. Pace of play a little slow today.

Staff were friendly. Played the combo tees which was challenging and fair. I will be back.

Loved the course layout, very fair. Its not overly challenging for the better golfer. Its in really good condition for this time of year. The staff was really friendly as well. This is a really good option if you are in the area.

Played during a heat wave, temp was 111. The course was in excellent condition, greens were well kept, fairways were great with minimal burnout from the heat which is expected. Played in 3 hr 15 min without any other golfer within 6 holes. The fairways are open and even with a hook or slice, wide enough you can play out of the rough. Your cart comes with a cooler and there is an ice and water machine at every restroom on the course. This was great to keep us cool. Highly recommend playing this course.

Rode the Purple tees (6507/71.2/128) in 3H, 15M twilight. The weather was sunny, fairly calm and 109. Conditions across the board were not as solid as when I played here a month ago, but still decent.

The Bermuda tees were lush and Very nice to play from. Level with few divots.

The Bermuda fairways are mostly lush. There are some thin spots where the winter rye has died off and the Bermuda is still taking back over. Same for the Bermuda rough.

The sand traps were decently maintained with thick sand.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and were firm. However, they were much bumpier than i remember from previous visits here.

Desert golf in the Summer is usually hot but not humid. Today in what felt like a steam room we teed off before 7am. Course conditions and especially greens couldn't have been better. Mountainview is the shorter of the two courses at Desert Willow Palm Desert but it is plenty challenging. Just enough water to challenge golfers anxious to get there in two but you better hit 'em straight. I lost 2-3 balls, had two blow up holes but still managed to break 100! Gps, club/ball cleaner onboard and convenient bathrooms with ice/water refill contribute to the great value. The cart girl was very attentive as well. Don't miss playing here.

Rode the Purple tees (6507/71.2/128) in less than 3H twilight. The weather was overcast, breezy and around 105.

Shorter and not quite as demanding as it's sister Firecliff course. Fairways are wider, probably less traps overall but more water.

Most of the tees were lush and near immaculate. Only a few par 3's needed divot attention.

The fairways are firm, mostly lush and nice to play from.

The rough is mostly lush and not very penal. Usually nice to play from, especially nice to chip from.

The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick sand.

The greens putted medium to medium fast, firm and are reasonably smooth for Bermuda.

No drink cart person this afternoon. Nice GPS on carts. Excellent customer service on every visit here. Excellent all grass driving range with a nice chipping practice green. However, they close the range around 1 pm in the summer. Solid layout, highly recommended.

Doesn't get the notoriety of it's sister Firecliff course, but I like this layout more with each round. 18 solid holes of golf. More water than Firecliff, and some risk/reward holes that provide players options. Definitely one of my most favorite places to play 36 holes.

The rough is mostly lush and not very tall. Nice to play from.

This place has a special feel. From the amazing entrance road to the course itself, you feel like you are in a desert oasis.....which you are. The staff was top-notch and made you feel like a local. The condition of the course resembled mid-winter condition rather than in the high desert heat. Can’t wait for next year!!

Loved playing this course. Immaculate condition all the way around. Favorite of the 5 courses we played over a long buddies trip golf weekend. Don't pass this track up in Palm D.
