Ever since it debuted in 2003 and started earning raves for being one of Northwest Florida's premier courses. This semi-private layout is the star amenity of an 800-acre residential development that touches Choctawhatchee Bay. Robert C. Walker, formerly the lead architect of Arnold Palmer's design company, laid out Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club amidst a nature preserve near the south shore of the bay. While you'll feel the breezes as you play this stalwart of Florida's Emerald Coast region, the water views during the round are of the wetlands, streams and manmade lakes that lend beauty and challenge to the game here. Plenty of trees, bulkheads lining the hazards and bright white sand in the predominantly shallow bunkers add extra aesthetic panache when you play at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. With so much water and trouble all around, you'll need to execute numerous forced carries on your drives and approach shots. A couple of holes feature island-like fairways.
Regatta Bay Golf and Yacht Club delivers a classic brand of Florida target-style golf, though it's a challenge everyone can enjoy. Moderately skilled players will be relieved that some of the hazards and shot prospects seem more intimidating than they really are. The game at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club comes to a crescendo finish. On the tricky par-4 16th you must avoid the water on the left and the marsh that crosses the fairway. While the redesigned 17th may be a drivable par 4 for long hitters, for most players the primary task is executing a forced-carry tee shot over water that finds the fairway in a spot short of the bunkers that intercede before the green. The finishing hole at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is a reachable ball 5 that hooks around a large lake with the green tucked hard by the hazard. It's the last test of a day of golf filled with strong and intriguing holes.
The club's extensive practice facilities include a golf academy with a canopy cover and a nice clubhouse with a lakefront restaurant that's ideal for winding down after your game. It's no wonder that Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is such a popular place to play in golf-rich Destin.

Nice course, but...
Course was nice, but lots of new home construction along the course. Teams ahead bogged down pace, but sitting and waiting allowed us to take in the nice views. Sadly no military discounts and no refs to keep pace moving ahead.

Great Course
This was my first time. The course is a great layout. Played from the blue tees and it was tough. Longer than I am used to playing. I will play here again for sure. Practice area was first class. Overall a great experience

Yes, the course plays long here on the Gulf coast at sea level and with less fairway run out so it's often encouraged to move up a set of tees compared to your home course.

Good round for the price
Course set up is challenging but fair if you are hitting the fairways. Greens were receptive but sandy from presumed recent aeration. Didn't seem to be too detrimental to putting. Overall, good price for the golf.

Way over priced course
We were told it was one of the best courses around. If it was, I’m glad I didn’t play others. We were told in advance that the greens would be airated 2 weeks prior but it seemed like it was 2 days before. In addition, the grass in the fairways were thin and were a goat farm. Crazy to pay $200 plus for this.

Golf
My wife and I have been vacationing in this area for over 20 years. I typically play 4-6 rounds of golf and Regatta Bay is one of my favorites. The course is very well maintained and the staff always friendly. There are plenty of scenic holes which make for great photographs.

Course was airrated, sanded greens. Probably a better course when it fills in. Extremely slow.

Regatta Bay - 5/12/26
Facility and range were great. Pro shop had a nice selection of gear as well.
The greens had just been aerated a week prior so I will trust they would normally be pretty good. The fairways and teeboxes were a little spotty and not what I expected for the money. Rough was playable and bunkers were great. Layout was fairly interesting with some unique holes that required placement off the tee. Fairways were tight in places. I am a 3 HCP and shot 78 from the blues so I feel it was rated accurately.
Thanks for the review, you are correct that we were a week removed from spring aerification when you played and the course continues to heal up nicely with the recent much needed rain and the warming overnight temps. We make a point of deeply discounting our rates for two full weeks post-aerification to account for the recovering conditions. We regret you didn't seem to see the value despite our efforts. Always great place to play!!!
Greens had just been aerated 10 days before, but the green fee was adjusted for that. Staff is always professional, left an expensive clothing item in my golf cart in which they held for me inside the clubhouse to pick up later that day.. every time I’m in Destin I play at Regatta Bay.

Regatta Bay Golf Club - Destin, Fl
Was in town for the week on vacation and wanted to play a round. Looked at a few courses online and settled on Regatta Bay and couldn’t have happier with my choice. I was blown away with the course! The staff was welcoming and friendly and that made the experience that much better. The course layout suites golfers of many skill levels. 10 out of 10. I highly recommend Regatta Bay.

Bad timing
We always enjoy Regatta Bay but this time we caught it right after punching the greens. We were warned but still chose to play there. We still enjoyed the course.

Golf pass GPS is WRONG
Do not use the GPS location provided by Golfpass that comes with your email confirmation. It will take you to a park located 5 miles away from the course. Google Regatta Bay separately. I was late to my Tee Time because of this. However, the staff was excellent and worked me in to another group. Beautiful course.
