Slow Play
There were 2 foursomes ahead of us, each a hole behind, and no marshals to be seen. I left at the turn because 1) it was frustrating, 2) no round should be longer than 4 hours, and 3) I had other plans for the early evening.
Napa golf
Wasn’t that sure how the course was gonna be but the view of the course seemed to be in good shape but as I started a sign read that the golf cart must cart area only .. The course was muddy and puddles throughout all 18 holes .. It was terrible cuz the course doesn’t have good drainage.. my shoes and pants were wet and dirty from walking to the area were my ball was… yucky day in all , so January and February months would not be recommended !!! Very disappointing!!!
Course in bad shape due to weather conditions days prior; not in their control. What was in their control? Temporary course lay out was ineffective, to the point many people didn’t play a full 18 holes, including me. Cart wasn’t clean, and the food I ordered (garlic fries) was wrong (they gave me onion rings).
Disappointing
Napa January 2025
The course is in terrible shape. The only good part were the greens which were in pretty good shape. There was a sign which indicated a happy hour from 2 to 6, but when we went in at 3:50, they said they were closing in 10 minutes.
Awesome
Great course, lots of wind and water, great distances. Now, the course can be a little low in terms of maintenance and lots of OB due to the terrain.
Staff is v friendly, Vince in the office is a great guy and can regrip your clubs on the spot. Now go get some birdies! -Aaron
Underwater
Course doesn’t drain well. Most holes were playable. A ball in the fairway often resulted in a splash or a plugged ball that will never be found again. Price was way too much for the conditions. Staff is friendly
Don't play after rain
We played a round after 2-day rain.
I am not sure how the drain system was designed. The fairway and cart path were flooded. The grass on the fairways was not maintained well. It may be a good course in summer but not in winter.
The mud is out of their control. but the prices aren't.
By far the worst value for golf in Napa. Most of the time you can get a tee time at Chardonnay for less than what NGC charges. The course is consistently in terrible condition. The mud and overrall wetness isn't their fault as it rains a lot in the winter and the course doesn't drain well. But they know that and should adjust their prices accordingly. Also, the course is extremely challenging, not because of the layout, but because the rough never gets mowed so if you miss the fairway you'll be feeling like you're playing in the U.S. Open. Also 9 times out of 10 hole 9 has been a 60 yard par 3 off a mangled tee box instead of the usual par 4. If you're desperate to get a round in, it's *fine.*. But I would never recommend this course to a friend or anyone else for that matter.
Nice Course
Can’t beat the price of their hot deal. Course layout is nice. Not too hard but not easy. Greens were in good shape, staff was friendly, driving range is okay but very usable.
Not the best course after rain as large puddles will eat up good shots but other than that I’ll be back.
