Good course, spoiled members
So last year a friend of mine and I had an early tee time. By the time we reached the second hole we already had a single approaching us. No big deal, we’ll let them join us or play through. By the time we reached the third hole, another single came up upon us. We told her that we’d let her by on the par 3 - 4th hole. After she had passed we tee’d up and had yet another single come up on us. I really didn’t have an issue with letting them by, but I questioned the last guy what time was his start time. He told me that he worked for the course and that the other two who had played through were members. For so reason my friend got all upset and took it out on me and quit playing. Haven’t spoken to him since. Just alittle upset they didn’t group the three of them together.
Fast forward to last Friday, I’m now there with a different friend. I booked the very first tee time and we got there 20 minutes early. I go into the pro shop to check in and while doing so, the employee hands a cart key to a young lady (I think she was one of the members that we let play through last year). Anyways, my friend and I load our cart and head over to the first tee box and notice a man had tee’d off in the dark. I couldn’t even see his ball flight. The young lady was already on the woman’s tee box getting ready to start off. So, we wait a few minutes … tee off and were fortunate that the group behind us was a threesome. I have no doubt that if a member had walked up, they would have tee’d off between us and pushed their way passed us.
Course was decent with a few dried up patchy fairways. The green had been punched but wasn’t much of an issue other than being slow. A few greens had some ugly scarring.
A warm day at Napa
The drainage system is not good, there are pretty much standing water that need to be fixed. Some of the fairways are only paved with dirts and sand, no grass at all.
Napa Valley Golf
The golf course was OK. The weather was great. Some of the holes were nice. Others were in rough shape.
Solid track
Napa remains a solid test even after the loss of a bunch of trees. Wet little roll on the fairways (kikuyu?) make it play long. Greens are in nice shape, on the slower side but mostly pretty true. Fairways are a bit beat up, and cart paths need help. But a fun, surprisingly challenging course with a few very interesting holes that make you think off the tee.
Course had some flood damage from the year before but has gotten a lot better since and showing signs of improvement
Napa Golf Course
Was just okay, many holes seemed to in repair or renovate state. Hole design was okay, more directiikn signage is needed
Conditions do not warrant fees
The course fairways were in the worst condition I’ve ever seen them for the middle of summer. Almost unplayable in the winter due to water, but they should’ve been in great condition for August. Time for a new groundskeeper. $61 for midweek is a ridiculous price for these course conditions.
Kennedy gets better everyday
Amazing staff, greens are in excellent position.
Course is well maintained.
And they have great food.
Good value but it's still recovering from flooding
Walked/carried on this course and that was fine. Layout is ok with some good variety. Trees come into play in some awkward spots that aren't apparent from the tees. Greens were in great shape, although a but spongy. Receptive to balls in the air but putts rolled true and pretty fast. Tee boxes were in pretty good shape. The fairways were good in some places, ok in others and unplayable in a few spots as the course is still recovering from being underwater. The par 3s were challenging and there's a lot of water in play. The range was rough but the putting green was good. Overall, good value and you can tell that they are putting effort into fixing it up.
Not bad, but not good
Paid full price to play the back nine twice due to a tournament. Course was under construction on some holes but the greens were decent
