Underwater
Course doesn’t drain well. Most holes were playable. A ball in the fairway often resulted in a splash or a plugged ball that will never be found again. Price was way too much for the conditions. Staff is friendly
Don't play after rain
We played a round after 2-day rain.
I am not sure how the drain system was designed. The fairway and cart path were flooded. The grass on the fairways was not maintained well. It may be a good course in summer but not in winter.
The mud is out of their control. but the prices aren't.
By far the worst value for golf in Napa. Most of the time you can get a tee time at Chardonnay for less than what NGC charges. The course is consistently in terrible condition. The mud and overrall wetness isn't their fault as it rains a lot in the winter and the course doesn't drain well. But they know that and should adjust their prices accordingly. Also, the course is extremely challenging, not because of the layout, but because the rough never gets mowed so if you miss the fairway you'll be feeling like you're playing in the U.S. Open. Also 9 times out of 10 hole 9 has been a 60 yard par 3 off a mangled tee box instead of the usual par 4. If you're desperate to get a round in, it's *fine.*. But I would never recommend this course to a friend or anyone else for that matter.
Nice Course
Can’t beat the price of their hot deal. Course layout is nice. Not too hard but not easy. Greens were in good shape, staff was friendly, driving range is okay but very usable.
Not the best course after rain as large puddles will eat up good shots but other than that I’ll be back.
Greens are in nice shape
Greens are in nice shape.first time i could actually putt in a while since everywhere is punching. Ummm on other note-I went to buy a hot dog on turn and gave her $10 expecting change back for tip. She gave me .30 cents Needless to say- no tip. All i got was a cold hot dig and bun- beware!!!
Nothing Special
The course is tight! I mean real tight. As a person that has a 260+ carry this is not a course for bombrers because there is no place to miss. Water, a forest of trees or both come into play on almost every hole. During the round I hit a few balls right along the edge of the fairway....and they were gone. Not big hooks or big slices, we are talking 2-3 yards off the fairway. It just wasn't fun, especially if you're on vacation. Although a part of me wants to rank this course lower, it's simply an older track that was probably considered long back in the day. It's designed for you to hit approach shots into the greens from 170-200, which is a 8-6 iron for me. Look, if you have some power, tee off with an iron on most holes and play for par. Not every hole has be be Driver + wedge , but a few would be nice.
Kennedy Oct 2024
The greens were in the best condition compared to the rest of the course and I would rate them fair. Some of the fairways were very poorly kept with many brown spots (some very large dirt spots) and several swampy spots. Whoever owns this course does not take care of it.
Overwatering- and not warned on punched Greens
Wish I had known about the greens, also not really sure why there is so much standing water on the course and muddy area's
Great day on the course
We had such a lovely day.
From the time we got there till when we finished our 18 holes, it was a great day.
The gentleman at the pro shop was professional and accommodating.
The course in areas was a tad wet, but for the price we paid, we were not bothered a bit by it.
Great, but needs help.
A pretty course set in a nice area. The paths are extremely bad in a lot of places. The greens also need a little bit of work. For the average player this is a great friend. The staff was extremely helpful and wonderful to be around. Put a little bit more work into it and will come back.
Fun course
Course was pretty good condition. A couple hole the fairways needed some attention but overall fun course
Blown away
Grew up in Fairfield playing Rancho and Paradise, in high school I played Chardonnay and Eagle vines.. not once in 20 years have I played Napa Golf course, I was blown away by how cool that track is! Sure it could use a little TLC on the landscaping, and greens were a tad bit soft, but really just a fun open track! Highly suggest it for anyone looking to go and just get some good practice in by yourself, and challenge yourself a bit.
