Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Nice course

The experience was good. Course was excellent. Nice practice area and range.Staff was very nice. Really slow group in front of us that never were pushed to speed it up some or let some play through. No cart girl for entire round. Could have used more drinking water.

Fabulous course that strikes a balance between challenging and easy enough for older members of a party. Greens almost fully healed were great speed for the moderate slopes on most greens. Absolutely a course you could play every day and not get bored of

Good challenging course for the money

The cost to play is worth it considering what you have to pay to get the same experience elsewhere. It has some country club vibes and nice amenities and the staff is more than friendly and accommodating.

The course is challenging where it needs to be but doesn’t punish the average golfer. The course is in great condition but the greens were a bit dry, but they were recently punched and cut.

If you are looking for a great place to play in vacation, I recommend Kelly Plantation 10/10.

Probably my favorite course in Destin, tee boxes and fairways are in good shape. The greens just aren’t what they should be in my opinion. A little bumpy due to being punched recently and super slow. Tough to pay $200ea for average greens
