About
Northern California's San Juan Oaks Golf Club is located halfway between the Silicon Valley and Monterey Peninsula off Highway 101 near the historic town of San Juan Bautista in Hollister. Opened in 1996, the 18-hole golf course is Fred Couples' first signature design in California and features five sets of tees for varying skill levels. It's also home to "Club Boom Boom," a popular junior teaching program. On top of the golf course, San Juan Oaks is known especially for its elaborate facilities including banquet rooms and patios for group outings, as well as driving range and practice greens.

Enjoyable place to play
Course is in great condition. Excellent practice facilities. Great course layout. Lots of decision making. The wind makes Afternoon rounds challenging.
Ridiculous cart fees-Beware
My husband and I played and used one cart. The cart fee was more than the green fee. They charged $25.00 per person, not by the cart. We shared a cart, of course and thought that was a royal rip off.

San Juan Oaks
The fairways, greens, and ruff where all well taken care of. The bunkers are in the process of being put back to playing shape. The bunkers right now are overgrown and not the same quality that they were before the Covid-19 suspension of play. It looks like the staff is working hard to bring them back. Still an excellent day with my buddy and I will return.

Unable to walk 18 holes . Booked a time & discovred it include a cart. So I had to cancel reservations
Fun course, great conditions
Played under Covid-19 restrictions and it worked well. Greens were in great shape - fast and true. Fun layout for sure. Glad I went.

Very nicely designed course
One of my favorite courses but a little too difficult for me from the white tee. I’ll try the gold tees next tine.

Greens were absolutely perfect.
Greens were in the best condition I ever seen making the plat very enjoyable. Overall course condition was 9 out of 10.. Could be 10 if green side bunkers some holes had more sand making them more playable

Pace of play
Love this course
There was a small group outing that teed off Well before us.
We caught them after 7 holes . Two of the foursomes in front of us fell way behind their other group.
Totally clueless, Inebriated. We Quit after the 12 th hole
Bummer but I’ll be back just not on Sunday’s

Exceptional golf course
SJO is a fantastic golf course and a great layout. Only one issue and that was that the bunkers were awful. They were more like dirt than sand.

Getting away from the city
When you get here you know you are away from hectic craziness from San Jose. It’s a nice day of golf with beautiful landscape, friendly staff, Good food restaurant And a challenging course set behind the back drop of amazing views.

Haven’t played San jKuan oaks in over 2 years
Course in great shape with greens fast due to no rain
Sand traps need to be replenished with new sand to make this course a gem. Fairways are ingest shape
Join there mission club that gives you discount greens fees and 10 % in the club house-great value-short trip from Morgan hill
Enjoyed San Juan Oaks
Played the course for the first time today with my regular foursome. The course has a lot of variety and is very challenging. The greens have a lot of slope and caused me more 3 putts than I would have liked. The only complaint would be that most of the sand traps were not well maintained and were like cement. I will definitely come back when we can get a good price on Golf Now.
Great course
Course is in great condition, hasn’t rained so course is fast-fairways you get the roll and hard to hold greens which makes this course very challenging for winter play. Greeens and fairways are in great shape, sand traps need some help-new sand
Pro shop personal is great and makes you feel at home-very personable.
San Juan Oaks has a frat membership that I ended up joining!!!! Great value for people that can golf during week

Greens were great , love the layout but there’s no sand in the bunkers. Forced to treat them like ground under repair. Price was very fair.
