San Juan Oaks Golf Club
About
Northern California's San Juan Oaks Golf Club is located halfway between the Silicon Valley and Monterey Peninsula off Highway 101 near the historic town of San Juan Bautista in Hollister. Opened in 1996, the 18-hole golf course is Fred Couples' first signature design in California and features five sets of tees for varying skill levels. It's also home to "Club Boom Boom," a popular junior teaching program. On top of the golf course, San Juan Oaks is known especially for its elaborate facilities including banquet rooms and patios for group outings, as well as driving range and practice greens.

Pigs and chunks
Although I didn’t play well it had nothing to do with this great course. In the past 2 weeks the boat have torn up s cations of the course. Honestly I was surprised that there was no signs two weeks ago. Didn’t effect our round, it’s just visually disturbing the destruction they can do to a nice golf course.
No Water
Today was the first time I experienced no water jug at the water stations. What happened? At least have one station with water on each 9. Just a suggestion. Thank You
San Juan Oaks weekday morning
Course is in great shape except for the bunkers!
A few have new and but the majority are hard dirt. Avoid them and it’s a great track.
It's a shame there letting this course go.
Sorry to see a good course go bad. They are over watering around the greens and there bunkers are the worst on the west coast . Another course that will probably close soon.
California Golf
San Juan Oaks is one of my favorite courses. It is always in superb condition and there is not a dull hole. Its major attraction is its setting amid green hills and grazing cattle and not a house in sight. San Juan Oaks is pure California, right down to the wild turkeys and the occasional wild cat strolling across a fairway.
Challenging and Rewarding
Great course. When I hit a good shot it rewarded me. Fun and challenging. Bunkers were hard but that’s not really an issue for me. Greens were great. I will return. This is my new favorite course.
I like it
Course is in fantastic shape. Love the fairways and greens. I’m not quite sure why they leave all the bunkers in that condition. Maybe they have a plan. Hope so. Go play!
Five stars if the bunkers had sand
This is a very nice course. Fairways and greens are in great shape. The bunkers don't have any or very little sand or the sand is just very compact and hard. Unfortunately I ended up in two bunkers that were like hitting the ball off clay. That is the only downfall. The weather was great, nobody rushing us, it was quiet, peaceful and a great day to be out on the course! I should stay out of the bunkers anyway!
Hello, thank you for your 5-star rating! Please book another round with us soon.
Slow play
Ive played this course many times This is the first time we encountered such slow play We were a foursome we had a twosome in front of us and a single in front of them.. We had to wait several times for the twosome to tee off because they were waiting for the single to complete play
Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and we are glad to see you rated the rest of your round to be great during your game. Thank you for playing San Juan Oaks Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon!

Perfect 80 degrees but a little to much wind. Fun course
One of my favorite courses
Love everything about the course-exceot the wind. If you can play other than a weekend and look for deals, its a steal.
San Juan Oaks 18 June 2019
Played first time in two year here.. Bunkers are still terrible, hard clay, no sand. New carts control your speed on downhills and prevent driving in rough and fairways on selected holes. Wind was 20 mph and brutal on holes heading west.

A must play when in the area!
Nofui the golf pro is really welcoming and informative. Carts are clean and modern, even with a touch screen TV. The course was beautiful, greens manicured ro perfection, and the greens rolled every so wonderfully. Side note: getting married here in a couple months. Can't wait.

Beautiful setting
San Juan Oaks is a challenging, but fair layout set in the beautiful hills of Hollister. I found the green complexes interesting and calling for a variety of approach shots.
The wildlife on the course is an treat.
