About
Northern California's San Juan Oaks Golf Club is located halfway between the Silicon Valley and Monterey Peninsula off Highway 101 near the historic town of San Juan Bautista in Hollister. Opened in 1996, the 18-hole golf course is Fred Couples' first signature design in California and features five sets of tees for varying skill levels. It's also home to "Club Boom Boom," a popular junior teaching program. On top of the golf course, San Juan Oaks is known especially for its elaborate facilities including banquet rooms and patios for group outings, as well as driving range and practice greens.

Workers Disregard Health Hazard.
First time playing the course. 1st hole group of $ jumping tee time. Workers on tee boxes, on course no etiquette to the golfers who pay to play. Some fairways were wet. Greens were slow. Most of all the beverage cart girl showed up on hole 3 saw her at the turn in a air conditioner room was told to-stay inside jump in freezer to keep cool. Temperature rose to 104 degrees and humid never saw the beverage cart until we were leaving the course. No water coolers on the course no ball washers on the course. Medically I was dehydrated and was cramping up. I believe the board of health should be notified, it’s a health issue. Other course I’ve played put two bottles of water per player on the cart. No consideration at all.

Tougher course with fantastic views!
Loved the course. Kinda narrow in some places but that makes for a great challenge. Really great layout and amazing views. Look forward to my next game here.

Mulligan Knights
The Cart Paths need to be re-cemented and Golf Ball Washers with Reusable Towels need to be installed at every Tee Off. The Greens are well kept and the Staff, very welcoming.
Take care of the to suggestions and you will be a 5 star. Thank you I had a great time golfing.

Tough Course
Always wanted to play out therre but heard it could get hot in the summer.
It was not to hot on the day we went out but actually windy, especially on the back.
Challenging course, long but made even more difficult by wind.
Fun course though, would play again, but check weather conditions beforehand,
Some difficult lies out there also.

Very windy but a beautiful course
We had to leave after 13 holes as it was almost impossible to hit the ball with any accuracy. Scenery is beautiful and the course is well maintained.

San Juan Oaks
Great track. The course was in good condition and the greens were really well taken care of. The PRO shop was more than friendly which sadly is a rare occasion these days.
Obviously we are still under Covid conditions so not much was available as far as amenities are concerned. Our foursome went at 9:30 and the weather couldn't have been nicer. As always with anything out in this area, the winds will pick up by 11-12, so our back nine was a little backed up around the 14th hole.
All things considered, I'd highly suggest giving the oaks a run in you're in the Hollister/Gilroy/SanJose area.

Still a great track, needs $$ for bunkers, and pace of play was not good.
Wonderful course, very challenging when windy (fairly usual).
Absolutely awful pace of play today. 9:40 tee time on a Saturday, apparently a very slow group out early, the four groups in front of us were all keeping up, but waited on Every. Single. Tee. More than five hours, and for no good reason.

Course is decent. Pace of play is always slow whenever I play there. Greens are kinda slow for what I’m used to.

Ok, maybe not a destination course
Greens and fairways were nice. People were nice. The layout was strange but not is a cool way. More like an almost miniature golf way.
Not sure I’ll be coming back with the other great choices in the area.

On the day that you played we had the beverage cart on the course until 4 p.m. as well as the snack bar open which sells beverages. Due to COVID-19 our local county had us remove all water stations on the course.
