Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course

Came out to play a few courses in Arizona and this one was highly rated and I can definitely see why. Course was in amazing shape, the facilities were in great shape. Staff were all very friendly from the pro shop to the cart return guys. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the course, end to end up there with some of the best courses I’ve played. Definitely one of the best values in golf. Will definitely play again if I’m in the area.

Always a great experience here. Course is crazy good and always in great shape with no maintenance drama that impacts play.

Beautiful course, challenging, fast greens, thick rough, rewarded for staying in fairways. Highly recommend.

I golf this course a couple times a year. It is in my top 3 courses in Phoenix. I live on a Nicholas designed course and I feel the Founders course is better. I recommend this course to any true golfer. The facilities are nice and the restaurant is relaxing.

Founders is a fantastic layout, with a good mix of elevation change/desert golf. I’ve played it a couple times and this time it was not in the best condition I’ve seen it in.

The fairways were too soft.....no roll on any tee shot......and subsequently the greens were very dry and hard......not the best combo of conditions for scoring but puts still rolled true. The bunkers were horrible......I don’t know if it was from the monsoons, but geez they need some sand and TLC.

I’m being picky because I hold Verrado in the same light as courses like We Ko Pa, Troon North, Wildfire etc

Hopefully it’s dialed next visit.

Booked same morning via GolfNow Hot Deal that truly was a great price. Summer round midday, paired with another pleasant gentleman and we had the course to ourselves for the first 7 holes, then two groups waved us through, we finished in 2 1/2 hours. Nice design, large fairway landing areas for a desert course, helping us play well and not search for balls in the desert sometimes more common on narrower AZ courses. Bunkers ok. Greens, tee boxes and fairways excellent. Saw the beer cart 4 or 5 times, plenty of water stations. You do get an unusual amount of jet noise from the nearby AFB, though only a minor distraction and not ear shattering at all. Staff very friendly- they did not meet me at the bag drop, so carried in my own bag- but it’s summer and likely minimum staffing. Recommended if you can get it for less than $40 summer/fall and $100 winter/spring.

I AM 77 YEARS OF AGE AND ME AND MY WIFE PLAY A LOT OF GOLF IN AND AROUND THE PHOENIX AREA. WE PLAY MAINLY IN THE SUMMER. THE RATES ARE LOW AND WE CAN AFFORD TO PLAY MANY COURSES.

ON 08/28/2018 I SAW A TEE TIME FOR VERRANDO FOUNDERS CLUB ON GOLF NOW AT 11 27 A.M FOR $11.00 PLUS FEE AND TAX. BOTH OF US FOR AROUND $33.00 I JUMPED ON IT SINCE I HAD NEVER PLAYED IT BEFORE. WE LIVE IN TEMPE AND IT WAS A LONG DRIVE BUT WELL WORTH IT ABOUT 1 HR EACH WAY.

WE ARRIVED AT ABOUT 11 10 AND THE BAG BOY WAS RIGHT THERE TO TAKE THE BAGS FROM THE CAR AND PLACE THEM ON A CART. MY WIFE HAD WENT TO CHECK IN AND WHEN SHE CAME BACK WE WERE READY TO GO. WE GOT DIRECTIONS TO THE FIRST TEE AND AWAY WE WENT . WE COMPLETED OUR PLAY AT 2 30 . WE NEVER SAW ANYONE ELSE ON THE COURSE. WE PLAYED AT OUR LIESURE AND FOUND THE COURSE TO BE ONE OF THE BEST WE HAD EVER PLAYED IN OUR 50 YEARS OF GOLFING.

I WOULD COMPARE THE COURSE TO THE BAD LANDS GOLF COURSE IN LAS VEGAS WHICH IS NO LONGER IN PLAY. ALTHOUGH THIS COURSE IS IN BETTER CONDITION THAN THE BADLANDS THE LAY OF THE COURSE IS SIMILAR.

THE OTHER HIGH END GOLF COURSES WE HAVE PLAYED THE BOULDERS, DINOSAUR,TPC DO NOT HOLD A CANDLE TO THE VERRADO FOUNDERS CLUB. I SURE HOPE WE FIND IT AVAILABLE AGAIN FOR $11.00. I WOULD ENJOY PLAYING IT AGAIN.

OH I DID SHOOT A 81 I COULD NOT GET THAT PUTT TO FALL.

Very beautiful course. Suitable for all kinds of players. It may be a drive but it will be well worth it to play this course. Have nothing bad to say about this course. They put in the work to make any player enjoy a round worth playing and wanting to claim the course.

Very good, tight desert course with t box options for advanced to not so advanced players. With only a few exceptions, fairways and greens were in excellent condition

Heard Verrado was nice and I was not disappointed...course in great shape for summer...greens looked long but were not...nice consistent speed...will definitely play again.
