Mixed experience
I’ll keep this review short and sweet. The staff were friendly. The course was definitely a mixed experience. The fairways were nice from what I can remember. However, some of the greens were rough. One of the greens was basically half dirt and half green. Of course I tried to putt over the dirt patches and my ball basically went off-roading. Other greens weren’t nearly as bad as that one but definitely need some tlc. As others have stated, some of the tee boxes were rough with weeds growing inside them. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience as my group did have fun but we definitely have reservations about returning unless the greens were improved. Not trying to sound picky or high strung but seriously a green shouldn’t have patches of dried brown dirt within putting distance of the pin. I'd definitely double check before paying full price.
Better than before
Having played this course many times it's been improving but still needs some TLC. The fairways are in pretty good shape, turf is good. Off fairways they trimmed the rough and it was good to play out of. The course plays dead, not much bounce on stingers and balls hit into the rough or on uphill to greens, they stop rolling. Some of the greens are patchy and many have no green at all. Large patches of uncovered green that has sand on it. I wouldn't pay more than $30 to play here until the greens are repaired and I forgot to mention some of the tee boxes are chewed up.
Improving
Forest trac at The Eagles is IMHO the best of the two. Too many weeds in greens. Some bad greens but improving. Fees mid-Summer and considering conditions not great value. There are worse.
Great Course
The course is in pretty good condition. I love it because it challenges you and is friendly. The staff there are great and always pleasant. I would definitely recommend playing here.

Nice layout with very good conditions considering the Florida months long Drought
While the staff was working hard to mow the non-playing areas of the course which had grown up due to rain the fairways were green and well mowed. The greens were mostly in good shape and rolled true. I enjoyed the layout and will play the couse again.
Course was ehhhh
First green is more sand than grass. Course overall isn’t in great shape. Place is kinda old and run down. Staff was friendly other that the worker who brought his little grandson out and was tying up the 9th hole and then argued with us about letting us through.
Pleasant Surprise
The course still needs a little work, but you can see they are making progress. Greens had been aerated about 3 weeks ago., but looking better. The layout is good especially for the price. Not sure why, but the pace of play was not an issue. Maybe less play because of Fathers Day. Played in 4 hours. Good bar for after round drinks
Great Potential!
Played Sunday June 8, course was in fair condition...greens need water and growth after aeration. Very bumpy throughout. Pace of play was pretty good. Will play again but not at a premium price!
Great Value Course
Nice layout and great value at 30-40 a round. Some bald spots on the greens here and there and in the fairways on some holes but still nice enough to have a great round without being too effected by it.
Bad greens
overall the course is beautiful, however they recently aerated the greens and right now they are in terrible shape. It is extremely difficult to sync a pot when the ball is jumping all over the place.
Getting Better!
I have been playing here since the 80's, but stopped when conditions were deplorable. I decided to book a tee time through golf now and was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the fairways and greens, even with the current drought. Greens were airated and recently top dressed, but the sand was pretty much gone. I had a great time
Sloppy - Slow Play
I played with 2 other buddies Saturday morning around 11 am, we were able to tee off about 5 minutes late - no big deal. When I originally checked in at the pro-shop, the manager was friendly and I was looking forward to my round. On hole 1, the green is in terrible shape - there are literally large chunks missing from the green and filled in with sand. The layout of the course was solid but the conditions I would say were average at best. We saw the drink cart lady on number 1 and didn't see her until we left the course. Play was very slow - we were well over 3 hours by hole 11 so we decided to pack it up and head home. I drove by the drink cart lady in the parking lot while I went in to inform the pro I was unhappy. He did offer me a rain check but I declined and said I won't be coming back. (For me it was an hour drive from my house). While talking to him about our experience a couple of members walked in and he began a convo with them essentially cutting me off. I did inform him I was going to put in a review to which he told me he was offended - at this point I really didn't care because I was also offended. Why not inform paying guests the course conditions are less than desirable and the pace of play is slow? Why when you are talking would he interrupt our convo to talk to others? When I told him about us only seeing the drink lady on 1, he said he would have to discuss with her if that is true because it is his wife. (Made me feel as if he doesn't believe me)
During play, we saw a ranger one time and he essentially just drove around in his cart - he clearly enforced nothing.
As far as positives go, the layout was very solid and the people were overall friendly (we grabbed 10 bottles of water in the bar) but I went to play golf unfortunately I wasn't able to play 18 holes because it would've been around 5 1/2 hours which to me is ridiculous.
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but anybody who has played this course within the last few weeks knows exactly the conditions I'm speaking of
Northdale
Nicecourse fixed up really nice, glad they had a cart girl,it was hot
review
Northdale even from the forward tees ( some 5000 yds ) is a big challenge to a high handicapper like myself. The course conditions was excellent...nice fast greens and nice wide fairways cut close with no bare spots......however, there is a lot of sand and water hazards to work around....the front office let us go off early as we were able to play before several four Somes started.....looking forward to returning there again someday soon.....
