Northdale Golf Club
About
Northdale Golf & Tennis Club remains one of the premier Tampa golf courses because of its affordable play, its use of water on 11 of 18 holes, bunkers, rolling undulations and contoured greens that really challenge players. Just 12 miles north of Tampa International Airport, this is a neighborhood golf course with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that will add to the enjoyment of your day. Renowned golf course architect Ron Garl designed the par 72, 6824-yard championship golf course. Northdale Golf & Tennis Club winds its way through 180 plus acres of property that is home to Brushy Creek and a series of small lakes and unspoiled wooded areas.

review
Northdale even from the forward tees ( some 5000 yds ) is a big challenge to a high handicapper like myself. The course conditions was excellent...nice fast greens and nice wide fairways cut close with no bare spots......however, there is a lot of sand and water hazards to work around....the front office let us go off early as we were able to play before several four Somes started.....looking forward to returning there again someday soon.....
Good layout and conditions
just a few greens need some work but overall, fairways, tee's, and greens were good and fun to play course. met a couple local guys to join and had a good round
Cours condition
The best condition I have seen Northdale!
Kudos to all the workers.
The 1st green needs some work but all other greens are in very good condition.
Nice Course Layout
Nice course - most greens were good fairways good - few greens with some bad spots. enjoyable round with a couple locals and my first time playing - I'd play again if I'm in the area in the future.
Course has 3 challenging holes (for me)
I have a tough time on holes 8,9 and 16. The only real complaint I have is the green on #1. It had bare spots that had ruts and holes in it. Horrible!
Great Value course
The course offers great value for money spent. The staff are friendly. The fairways are decently maintained, and the greens are in fair condition with the exception of a few notable greens where they were in poor condition. The course itself rewards smart play, and course management.
Great layout pro shop is nasty and rude
The layout was great, with the course needing some work on fairways and greens. All staff OUTSIDE of the proshop was very friendly and helpful. This was my second time coming to this course and the first time I was turned away by the most rude person working the pro shop. This time I came back to give it a second chance and was treated the same way. The lady behind the desk gave me attitude that I asked to walk the course and told me “we don’t allow walkers on this course” and then proceeded to tell me that there’s no such thing as walking fees. I said whatever due to the price being fairly decent already. Then when she asked my tee time I told her 10:53 and it was 10:30 on the dot, she then copped another attitude with me telling me they already sent my group out 20 minutes before our scheduled time. Telling me they’re ahead of schedule as if it was my fault and should’ve assumed that was the case. It’s a shame that their staff in the pro shop is so poorly run because I liked the course even though each hole was taking about 12 minutes due to pace of play being so slow. I would not come back I would rather go to a facility that values their customers rather than to be made a burden by people who are upset they do their jobs.
Much Improved
I have lived in the Northdale area for the past 30 years and have played the golf course many times, but have not played in the past 4 years, as the course was in terrible shape. I was pleasantly surprised by the improved conditions. Besides the green conditions on #1, which have always been a problem, every other green was excellent!
There is still more work to be done with the cart paths, wooden bridges, etc..., but it's nice to see it coming back. Keep it up!
I will be playing again soon!
Convenient course for me
I live fairly close to the course (1-1/2 miles), so I really appreciate the close proximity. Considering the dry weather conditions, the course was in pretty good shape. Some greens did have some very rough areas, but they are clearly playable. This is a great course for me!
Course condition
Unfortunately, the greens were a bit of a mess and pace of play was slow!
Average Course
I think for the money spent it wasn't great. Has great potential but the greens were in horrible condition. If they clean those up then it can be one of the best in tampa.
Guy in Pro Shop was not nice, but everyone else, Ranger's Starter's and Bartender's were all pleasant.
Close Convenient Course
Played the course at 2:00 and Tgs rate of play was very good. The course was in pretty good shape, although it has been dry. Some greens were challenging.
3-2025
Greens acceptable
First time i have played at Northdale in many years.
I was truly shocked, not in a good way.
The staff person was very nice.
The traps were dirt.
The Carts are old.
They have a long way to go on the rebuild .
The place is suitable to practice .I hope the rebuild can restore this fun layout.
I will come back in a year.
It's in good condition this year.
Other than the 1st green, all greens are in good shape. Additionally, the course generally is in decent condition. For your money this place provides great value.
Northdale on the Decline again
Despite much improvements on greens, fringe and fairways a year ago, course has declined again to poor conditions with alot of dirt and weeds, some greens almost unplayable others, very neglected... very disappointing after a much need TLC starting a 1.5 yrs ago
