Good, challenging course in Irvine
Rancho San Joaquin is a good, challenging course in Irvine, with typically nice ocean breezes.
Meeh Course
Biggest problem with this course is extreme slow pace. Often we roll up to tee and two groups in front are waiting for the same tee. And we wait 10 minutes for each hole. Their management is very poor.
Course condition is bad, muddy fairway, lots of bugs. They don't have enough golf carts, two groups of four in front are driving three golf carts each, and we have three people cramping up in one golf cart. Staff was ok tho. Big dude was nice. I would spend 50 dollars else where.
TOO MUCH WATER AND GROWN OUT GRASS IN FAIRWAYS
the course was saturated and a lot of the holes and tall grass everywhere, they really need to drop the price of this course, too pricey for what you get.
Decent Course
Have played here for years and have always liked the course. Sure the course could be in better shape but the greens are usually in really good condition. Price has gone up quite a bit over the years, but still a good place to get a round in. Funny thing about this round was that rain was in the forecast that afternoon, but pro shop guy said no rainchecks today! What would be a better time for a raincheck than when it may rain? LOL! Got the round in and had a great time.
Not worth the green fees
GolfNow indicated a price, when you arrive it’s more than the listed GN price. Apparently the cart fee is not included and the actual price for the reservation is much higher. Not sure if it’s GN or Course that should state it in listing. Either way, neither is transparent about the actual fees.
Where are the fairways?
Greens and bunkers are in good shape, but no hole that I can recall had anything that looked like a fairway. Just grass growing in a field
Has potential but pot shape now
The course really needs TLC. Some holes oils not left you get closer than 125 yards before cart quit and we had to back out to the cart path. Older people will have a challenge with that. Lots of walking! GPS on cart was good but I’d sacrifice the GPS for better conditions!
