Good course
Good course…could use fairway improvement (reseeding). Food / beverage service at club house closed at 5:00, which was early, considering the number of players still on the course.
No Marshal= Big problems
Pace of play was incredibly slow. We played behind a 4some who two of them thought they should hit from Gold tees. They probably should’ve been hitting from whites. Our cart monitor had us at 17+ minutes behind pace. No marshal was even out in the course to encourage slower groups to play faster or skip ahead. Also the In cart GPS is incredibly annoying holes either had boundaries that were 100 yards away from green and would shut you down or didn’t have anything at all. Course conditions were decent. No beverage cart to ease our pain of waiting at every single hole. Overall I don’t know if I’d play here on a weekend ever again.
Making Improvements
I've played here dozens of times over the years. The overall condition of the course is not usually the greatest, but the greens are usually very good. They seem to be trying to improve the condition of the course as there was some construction going on during our round. Also, this was the first time they had the GSP screens in the carts which is a great improvement. Pace can still be slow at times, but we got through in about 4 1/2 hours. Looking forward to the final product when the construction is done. Would definitely recommend playing RSJ as it's a fair course with fun layout.
Under construction
Several holes are being rebuilt but it’s still playable.
Under repair
Normally, this course is a decent Orange County course. For the amount of traffic it gets they do a good job of maintaining the course. But, they are repairing some tee boxes and cart paths so the course is under construction.
Undergoing Major Renovation
Lots of course renovation currently going on from the fairways to ripped up cart concrete paihs. The greens were the only thing that were untouched. Hole 4 was drastically shortened to a Par 3.
Should be improved when complete.
Would avoid for now unless you can get at least 50% off the greens fees.
Great course and new ownership is amazing
I've played this course 4-5 times a month for the last 10 months. I've seen first hand how the new owners have revamped this course. So many renovations being done every week. It is easy to also get a teetime if you're a single.
Better than I thought
Driving pass this course had me worried but playing it was actually very fun and better than I would have guessed. I will definitely revisit this course soon!
