The problem is the greens were recently aerated and we did not know this..the regular rates were lowered but not hot deals.

Cinnabar is always a gem!

I’ve been playing here for years. One of my most favorite South Bay, If not, best public course around. Cinnabar would be a private course if there was real estate around. With three nine hole courses there’s a unique vibe to them all. Lake is always tough while Mountain is a bit easier and Canyon is my favorite tucked into the hills. It’s been wet this season but the course has held its own. No wind today and made for the best round of the season. The greens are perfect and the course is always in tip top shape. They really care to take care of it. Would recommend this to anyone who loves golf away from roads, freeways and wives. Play before the prices jump in the Summer. Still worth it at that time.

Don’t play after it rains

Lost about 5 golf balls in the middle of the fairway so was a bit frustrating. There was a few green being worked on where the maintenance crew kinda stood on the greens as you hit up and putt so was a little nerve wracking but can see in dry weather why some would play it. Didn’t help to be behind a 3sum as a single that refused to Acknowledge my existence so I could join or play through.

Worth the Drive

Cinnabar is one of the best courses in the Bay Area. With 3 nines you are always in for a treat. The course is fair, right in front of you, but can still punch you in the face if you aren't careful. The maintenance team keeps the course in great shape an it easily has the best greens around.

Watering tee boxes?

Course was in very good condition....except they were watering some of the tee boxes in the middle of the day and following a ton of rain just days before. Since the entire course was soaking wet from the rain, it seemed entirely unnecessary to water the tee boxes. Made footing very tough.

Smoky and Hazy

Played the Mountain and Canyon course on a Friday afternoon with 3 other players. The Camp Fire was sending smoke down up to San Jose which made the air quality very unhealthy. Only the brave golf addicts would go out. Greens were fast and challenging just how I like it. The rough was trimmed down which was great! Too many players looking for golf balls which made play slower. Some very wet spots and very dry spots on fairway. Food on the turn was great.

A hidden gem in Silicon Valley

Too many bucket-list chasers drive right by on 101 en route to the Monterey Peninsula without realizing what they're missing at Cinnabar Hills.

This is a fun track. There's some target golf involved, but there's never a dull hole. It's got elevation changes and sweeping views and loads of variety. The greens were super fast, too.

The bonus is the museum inside the clubhouse, home to all sorts of artifacts - a real green jacket from Augusta, the only collection of replica trophies of the four major championships and clubs used to shoot 59. Definitely, a Bay Area must play.

Great experience all around!

From the start of the day in the pro shop to the after round lunch, the golf experience couldn’t have been more enjoyable! Everyone I dealt with was great. It surpassed my high expectations for the day. The greens were running at 11 and rolled true. Each hole is memorable and provides plenty of challenging shots. I would love to play this course again the next time I’m in the San Jose area.
